18、(E) 4 Introduction This document is a type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100-1:2003. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indi- cated in the scope of this document. When provisions of this type C standard are different from those
19、 which are stated in type A or B standards, the pro- visions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard. In this standard it is assumed that: only competent pers
20、ons operate the machine; components without specific requirements are: a) designed in accordance with good engineering practice and calculation codes, including all failure modes; b) of sound mechanical and electrical construction according to the state of the art; c) made of materials with adequate
21、 strength and of suitable quality; d) made of no harmful materials, such as asbestos; components are kept in good repair and working order, so that the required characteristics remain despite wear; installation allows for safe use of the machine; negotiation occurs between the manufacturer and the u
22、ser/purchaser concerning particular conditions of use and the places (e.g. ground and local safety conditions) of use of the machinery.
