Scope.This standard establishesminimumrequirementsfor finish systemsfor Air Force sumorteQuiDmentand also establishesa code sstemto”specifythose finish systemsin a simplified manneron draw- ings by AirForce engineeringactivitiesand in contractorgenerated drawingsas required by procur
32、ementofficers. 1.2Exclusons.Electronicequipmentand munitionsare excludedfrom the requirementsof this standard. 1,3ClassificationFor applicationof finishes to support equipment, surfacesare classifiedas follows: TypeI (exposed)TypeI surfaces are areas either exosed d;rectlyto the environmentwhen equi
33、p- iiieni is in operating or travailingcon- figuration,or areas not exposeddirectly to the environmentbut subjectto combined direct action of environmentalelements. Environmentalelementsinclude temperature extremes,humidity extremes,rain, hail, snow, sleet, salt laden air,industrial atmospheres,dire
34、ct solar radiation, dust, and the abrasive action of wind-blownsand. TypeII (sheltered)TypeII surfaces are areas not exposed directlyto the environmentduring equip- ment operationand travelingconfiguration and are not subjected to direct action of rain, hail, snow, sleet, directsolar rad- iation, an
