Parties to a contract can only obtain this standard via the responsible procurement department. VOLKSWAGEN AG Form FE 41 - 10.99 1 Scope This standard
、 contains requirements that must be met by engine oils (oil change and refill) with fuel-saving properties for use in naturally aspirated diesel engines with direct injection and turbo diesel engines with direct injection in the VW Group (but not pump jet injection system). Engine oils in accordance
、 with this standard combine fuel-saving properties with the capability of realizing extended oil-change intervals when used in the aforementioned VW diesel engines with direct injection. They are characterized by high thermal endurance, low pumping work and opti- mized soot capacity, and are suitabl
、e as all-season oils if the oil-change intervals stated in the owners manuals are observed. 2 Requirements Once oils according to this VW standard have been approved by After Sales Service, their con- tainers shall be identified with the note “Released acc. to VW 506 00, 05.99 edition“. The containe
、r labeling shall also include an unambiguous reference to a production batch. Test certificates per- taining to the requirements set down in sections 3 and 4 shall be submitted. Furthermore, the oil code must be specified. Releases are issued only in combination with releases according to TL 521 73.
、 In addition, it may be necessary to submit results of further testing such as function and in-vehicle tests, etc. Any engine oil release issued by the Group shall become invalid if the oils formulation is changed. This relates to changes and/or replacement of basic oil components and viscosity inde
、x improvers as well as additive systems and components. Engine oils in accordance with this standard must be miscible in any ratio with factory-fill engine oils and other commercially available engine oils. The release of an engine oil and its rebrand in accordance with this standard shall expire 36
、 months after the original release date unless it is again demonstrated that the requirements of the standard valid at that time are met. To obtain reinstatement of release the manufacturer shall again submit all the test certificates is- sued by independent testing institutes that are required by t
