5、t the BSI technical committee responsible for the UK input to EN 747-1:2007 is of the opinion that an entrapment or strangulation hazard might be caused by the provision contained in clause 4.3 (paragraph 7) that allows the outermost components of a bed to deviate from vertical by 230 mm. 6、eason, the BSI technical committee voted against the final text of this European Standard. Attention is drawn to the provisions of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 which place a general duty on all suppliers of consumer goods to supply products that are safe in normal or reasonably forese

21、 BS EN 747-1:2007 EN 747-1:2007 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard specifies requirements for the safety, strength and durability of bunk beds and high beds for domestic use. The loads and forces in the strength and durability tests apply to beds with a maximum bed base width of 120 cm. It is part
22、icularly intended to minimise the risk of accidents happening to children. If the bunk bed/high bed includes other products, for example a table or storage furniture, the safety requirements for these products are not covered by this standard. 2 Normative references The following referenced document
