9、out license from IHS -,-,- AA 94 W Ob04500 0033595 88b Shipments Shipments of Castings SHIPMENTS UP 3.9 PERCENT There were 2,415 million pounds shipped during 1989 versus the prior years 2,325 million pounds, an increase of 3.9 percent from the previous year. This table show shipments of aluminum ca
10、stings separately for sand, permanent mold and die castings, both for sale and own use through the year 1983. Permanent mold shipments for sale and own use were combined in 1984. Own use shipments are for captive consumption in the producers end products. Ingot requirements for the castings shipment
11、s shown in this table are part of the net ingot shipments shown on pages 5 imports accounted for 18 percent; and secondary recovery represented 27 percent. In the ten years 1979-1 989, secon- dary recovery grew at a 2.5 percent annual rate, while primary production decreased at a 2.1 percent annual
12、rate. U.S. Aluminum Supply 1979-1 989 DESCRIPTION: United States supply of aluminum consists of domestic primary produc- tion, imports of primary and mill products, and metal recovered from scrap. No adjustment is made in this presentation for shipments or withdrawals from the government stockpile.
