23、ally encoded data on a 0.250 inch (6.35 mm) wide magnetic tape cartridge to allow parties that comply with these require- ments to interchange information reliably. The standard applies to 26- track, 16 000 bpi (630 bpmm), serial, group coded information using tape drives that operate in the streami
24、ng mode. The advantage of using the format described in this standard is that it pro- vides for more than double the data capacity, and, due to the inclusion of a powerful error correction capability, a substantially increased data reliabili- ty, when compared to the cartridge described inAmerican N
