11、0, Refrigerated display cabinets, Part 1: Terms and definitions. After consultation with stakeholders in both countries, Standards Australia and Standards New Zealand decided to develop this Standard as an Australian, rather than an Australian/New Zealand Standard. This Standard incorporates Amendme

17、ndard Refrigerated display cabinets Part 1: Terms and definitions 1 SCOPE 1.1 Scope of Standard This Standard specifies terminology, general mechanical and physical requirements, test conditions as well as installation and maintenance, for commercial refrigerators and freezers used for the sale or d
18、isplay of food products including beverages. This Standard does not cover refrigerated vending machines, ice-makers, cabinets intended for use in catering and similar non-retail applications. 1.2 Scope of Part 1 This Part of the AS 1731 series of Standards specifies terms and definitions for refrige
19、rated display cabinets for the sale and display of foodstuffs. 2 OBJECTIVE The objective of this Standard is to provide unified terminology for refrigerated display cabinets, for use by manufacturers, suppliers, purchasers, operators and regulators of these systems. 3 REFERENCED DOCUMENTS The follow

21、d, the definitions below apply. 4.1 Cabinet designations 4.1.1 Cabinet types A classification of the refrigerated display cabinet families is given in AS 1731.6. 4.1.1.1 Assisted service refrigerated display cabinet/serve-over counter A refrigerated display cabinet which requires that a person serve
22、s the consumer with fresh cut or packed foodstuffs. 4.1.1.2 Closed refrigerated display cabinet A refrigerated display cabinet where access to the foodstuffs is gained by opening a door or lid.
