9、items which are divided into several categories. To recognize this diversity, a sectional classification system has been established. Architectural Door Trim is one such section and this Standard is a result of the collective efforts of members of the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association, Inc
10、. who manufacture this product. The total Product Standards effort is, therefore, a collection of sections, each covering a specific category of items. Performance tests and, where it has been necessary, material and dimensional requirements have been established to insure safety and stability to wh
11、ich the public is entitled. There are no restrictions on design except for those dimensional requirements imposed for reasons given above. The BHMA recognizes that errors will be found, items will become obsolete, and new products, methods and materials will be developed. With this in mind, the Asso
12、ciation plans to update, correct and revise these Standards on a regular basis. The BHMA numbers which indicate types and functions of hardware do not identify size, finish, material or design and are not intended to be used without necessary supplementary information. Users of this Standard who req

16、tandard contains requirements for door protection plates, door edgings, push plates, door pulls, Tests described in this Standard are performed under laboratory conditions. DEFINITIONS 2.1 Door Edging: Protective material applied to the edge of a door. 2.2 Door Protection Plate: Protective material applied to the face of a door. 2.3 Door Pull: A device applied to the face of a door and w
18、hen grasped permits the user to pull a door open. 2.4 Kick Plate: A protective plate applied to the lower part of the door surface on the closing side of the door. 2.5 Mop Plate: A protective plate applied to the lower part of the door surface on the opening side of the door. 2.6 Pull Plate: An asse
19、mbly consisting of a door pull with a protective material positioned between the pull and face of a door. 2.7 Pull Bar: A device extending across or vertically on a door and when grasped permits the user to pull a door open. b.8 Push Bar: Similar to pull bar but used for pushing a door open. 2.9 Pus
20、h Plate: Material applied to the surface of a door and located where a user is to push on a door to open it. 2.10 Push/Pull Unit: A non-latching device applied to the face of a door and offering suitable surfaces for either a pushing or pulling operation of the door. 2.1 1 Stretcher Plate: A protect
21、ive plate applied to the middle part of the door surface on either side of the door. 3.
