Although this Standard may be used as a benchmark for in-house evaluation, no product may be said to be A.S.S.E. approved unless the manufacturer has applied to the A.S.S.E., has had his product tested by an official A.S.S.E. recognized independent laboratory, according to the applicable A.S.S.E.
4、Stan- dard, and when the product has passed the test, displays the A.S.S.E. Seal on the product. Instructions for receiving the authorization to display the Seal are available from the A.S.S.E. Central Office. It is recommended that all devices designed for plumbing systems, especially those which p
5、ertain to public health and safety, should be installed consistent with local codes by qualified and trained professionals. 8、 license from IHS -,-,- t-oreword The American Society of Sanitary Engineering for Plumbing and Sanitary Research is dedi- cated to the preservation of Public Health and Safety through “Prevention Rather than Cure.” Prevention of contamination or pollution of potable water in plumbing systems is one
9、 of the major objectives of the Societys Standards Program, which is addressed to the develop- ment and promulgation of Standards embracing performance criteria for manufactured plumb- ing components designed to safeguard Public Health and Safety. The recognition of probable sources or causes of con
10、tamination or pollution of a potable water system whereby it becomes unfit or undesirable for human consumption, is vital to the maintenance of its continued potability. While backflow into potable water lines is always a potential source of contamination, in connection with Post Mix Type Carbonated
11、 Beverage dispensers, backflow of C O , gas into copper piping of the potable water system causing copper poisoning is especially serious and must always be protected against. I This standard is focused on those devices known as Dual (Double) Check Valves, which are one type of device recognized for
12、 protection for use in connection with Post Mix Type Carbon- ated Beverage Dispensers. In addition to inclusion of this device in the system, periodic inspection and servicing of the device is essential. This standard is the latest addition to the current eight A.S.S.E. Backflow Preventer Stan- dard
13、s, each of which covers a different type of backflow protection device, each tailored to the protective requirements essential to the specific system conditions in which it is installed and the degree of hazard involved. The A.S.S.E. Sub-Committee in charge of developing this standard was set up in
14、compliance with, and authorized by, the Administrative Procedures for the A.S.S.E. Standards Committee.
