18、n 150 psi (1,035 kPa). For Method B, the peel strength shall not be less than 25 lb/in. (4.4 N/mm). Mating surface. Rubber seats shall mate with a machined surface 4.4.5.1 on the discs. The mating surface shall be ground to a minimum surface finish of 32 in. (0.81 m) roughness and overlap the rubber
19、 seat when centered in the valve body to prevent indentation marks in the seat. Workmanship and PaintingSec. 4.5 Workmanship. 4.5.1 Valve
21、parts shall be designed and manufacturing tol- erances set to provide interchangeability of parts between units of the same size and type produced by any one manufacturer. When assembled, valves manufactured in accordance with this standard shall be well-fitted and shall operate smoothly. The body a
22、nd pin seals shall be watertight. Coating4.5.2 . Interior and exterior surfaces to be coated, except finished or bearing surfaces, shall be carefully prepared by removing dirt, grease, and rust and shall be cleaned to the extent that the coating will bond to surfaces. Interior surfaces. When specifi
23、ed by the purchaser, ferrous surfaces, 4.5.2.1 except finished or bearing surfaces, shall be shop coated with an epoxy coating conforming to the requirements of ANSI/AWWA C550. Exterior surfaces. The exterior of each valve, except flange faces, 4.5.2.2 shall be shop coated with a suitable metal prim
24、er to a dry film thickness of not less than 3 mils. (0.076 mm). The primer shall be compatible with the anticipated field coatings when the field coatings are identified by the purchaser.
