7、s Foreword is not a part of ANSI/BHMA A156.20) The general classification of builders hardware includes a wide variety of items which are divided into several categories. To recognize this diversity, a sectional classification system has been established. Strap and Tee Hinges, and Hasps is one such
8、section and this Standard is the result of the collective efforts of members of the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association, Inc. who manufacture this product. The total Product Standards effort is, therefore, a collection of sections, each covering a specific category of items. The BHMA recogni
9、zes that errors will be found, items will become obsolete, and new products, methods and materials will be developed. With this in mind, the Association plans to update, correct and revise these Standards on a regular basis. In most cases, products have been described in grade levels related to thei
10、r durability. Grade classifications indicate levels only within their own product categories. Choice of grade and specific product are made on the basis of utility, aesthetics, security objectives and end use desired. The BHMA numbers which indicate types and functions of hardware do not identify si

12、PROCEDURE the qualifying lateral measurement is the average of these two. 4.2 Cycle Test Cycle the hinges through 90 degrees for 100,000 cycles. At the conclusion of the cycle testing, each specimen shall again be measured as in 5.1 to determine the displacement between leaves and knuckles. Wear is
13、determined as the difference between final and initial measurements. Record measurements of wear for all hinges. The measurements of the greatest wear shall be compared to the permissible figures. The hinges passing the test shall comply with the vertical and lateral wear requirements below: 4.3 Req

HINGE PERMANENT SET TEST PROCEDURE & REQUIREMENT 5.1 Lateral shift The lateral shift of doors away from jamb shall not
15、 exceed .060 in (1.5 mm) when tested in the following manner. 5.2 Door position Measure the horizontal position of the door at the top hinge, using the dial indicator, with the door in the closed position. 5.3 Add test weight Add the test weight, as indicated in the chart for the hinge, at the outer
16、 edge of the door. 5.4 Open and close door Open the door to the 90 degree open position and return to the closed position. 5.5 Remove the test weight 5.6 Remeasure door position Measure the horizontal position of the door as in 5.2. The difference between the two measurements is the horizontal set o
17、f the door (or lateral shift). 6. STRENGTH TEST FOR HASPS 6.1 Mounting The hasp shall be mounted in the closed position on a steel plate using machine screws of a size equivalent to the fasteners provided with the hasp. The hasp shall be fastened with a padlock having a shackle with a nominal diamet
