10、AU 50-2, Wheels and rims, was first published in 1964. It was revised in 1973 as BS AU 50-2a, Wheels and rims Dimensions. In 1984 section 4 of BS AU 50-2a was revised and published separately as BS AU 50-2.2. In addition to the dimensional data for commercial vehicle wheel mountings, this Section in
11、cludes information on wheel nave and hub mountings using spherical countersinks in the Appendix A. Figure 3 shows typical wheel-to-hub assemblies which are recommended current practice. There is no British Standard for wheel and hub dimensions for passenger cars and their derivations, as the types o
12、f mountings are numerous and varied. It was decided that it would not be practicable to prepare a useful standard. 23、e standard specifies dimensional requirements for wheel naves and hub centres for commercial vehicles and their derivatives. The mountings are either type A: spigot mounting or type B: conical mounting. 2.2 Wheel nave and hub dimensions Wheel nave and hub dimensions shall comply with the requirement
24、s for the relevant type A or type B mounting given in Figure 1 and Table 1 and Figure 2 and Table 2. NOTE 1Type A is preferred for future designs, as it is considered that the traditional UK method of wheel mounting, type B, will gradually be replaced by type A mountings. NOTE 2Examples of recommend
