16、n prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 299, Gas-fired sorption appliances and domestic gas-fired washing and drying appliances, the secretariat of which is held by AENOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endor
17、sement, at the latest by September 1998, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 1998. This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports the essential require
18、ments of EU Directives. For relationship with EU Directives, see informative annex ZA, which is an integral part of this standard. The test gases, test pressures and appliance categories given in this European Standard are in accordance with those specified in EN 437: Test gases, test pressures and
19、appliance categories. The marking requirements in this European Standard take into account CR 1472 General guidance for the marking of gas appliances. The first part of the standard specifies the requirements and test methods for the construction, safety, marking and testing of the appliances. The s
20、econd part of the standard specifies the requirements for rational use of energy. During consideration of this standard, it was agreed that a test for NOxemissions was not considered necessary due to the intermittent pattern of use of these appliances. This standard covers type testing only. Accordi

48、ryer, of types: A1and A1ASnot exceeding a heat input of 6 kW; B11, B11ASand B11BSnot exceeding a heat input of 20 kW; hereafter referred to as appliances. This standard does not apply to: a) catalytic combustion appliances; b) appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prev
49、ail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere; c) appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft.
