This European Standard shall be given th
18、e status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2005, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2005. 23、Uncontrolled Copy, (c) BSI EN 12014-4:2005 (E) 4 1 Scope This European Standard specifies an ion-exchange chromatographic method for the determination of the nitrate and nitrite contents of meat products and has been validated for different meat products with a nitrate content of 50 mg/kg to 300 mg/
24、kg as nitrate ion and a nitrite content of approximately 40 mg/kg as nitrite ion. NOTE Validation data obtained from interlaboratory studies show that this method may also be applied to the determination of nitrate in vegetables and baby food, see 1, 2.
