3、 978 0 580 60198 9 National foreword This British Standard is the UK implementation of EN 12416-1:2001, incorporating amendments A1:2004 and A2:2007. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted by Technical Committee FSH/18, Fixed firefighting systems, to Subcommittee FSH/18/8, Powder syst
4、ems. A list of organizations represented on this subcommittee can be obtained on request to its secretary. EN 12416-1 is a candidate “harmonized” European Standard and fully takes into account the requirements of the European Commission mandate M/109, Fire alarm/detection, fixed firefighting, fire a
5、nd smoke control and explosion suppression products, given under the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC), and intended to lead to CE marking. The date of applicability of EN 12416-1 as a “harmonized” European Standard, i.e. the date after which this standard may be used for CE marking purpo
6、ses, is subject to an announcement in the Official Journal of the European Communities. EN 12416-1 is the subject of transitional arrangements agreed under the Commission mandate. The Member States have agreed a nominal transition period for the co-existence of EN 12416-1 and their corresponding nat
7、ional standard(s). It is intended that this period will comprise a nominal nine month period during which any required changes to national regulations are to be made, followed by a further nominal 12 month period for the implementation of CE marking. At the end of this co-existence period, the natio
8、nal standard(s) will be withdrawn. In the UK, there are no corresponding national standards. This publication does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. 29、ce of components intended for use in powder firefighting systems complying with prEN 12416-2:2000. The components covered are as follows: - powder containers - expellant gas container assemblies - pressure regulators and gauges - actuators - main isolating valves and selector valves - nozzles. The c
30、omponents are suitable for powder firefighting systems for general use in buildings and other construction works. In areas with a risk of explosion, earthquake zones, extreme environmental conditions e.g. marine, offshore, mining or aircraft additional considerations apply. This standard covers comp
31、onents for use in powder extinguishing systems complying with prEN 12416-2:2000. It does not cover, for example, pipes and fittings which are covered by more general standards for which requirements and recommendations are given in prEN 12416-2:2000. Nor does it cover fire detectors or electrical co
