、of EN 71-3:1994. 4.2 Flammability There shall be no parts of the table mounted chair that can give rise to flash effect (e.g. plush surfaces), when tested in accordance with 5.5 of EN 71-2:1993. 4.3 Shrinkage For table mounted chairs with fabric parts, which according to the manufacturers instructio
、ns can be removed for washing or cleaning, the tests in clause 6 shall be carried out after having washed and dried the fabric parts twice, and then refitted the fabrics to the frame in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. 5 Construction 5.1 General The table mounted chair, when assembled
、 for use, shall be constructed so as to prevent any risk of pinching, cutting or wounding for both the child and the carer. NOTEIf there are toys fixed to the table mounted chair attention is drawn to the provisions of EN 71. 5.2 Gaps and openings The following requirements shall be met before and a
、fter the tests defined in clause 6. The table mounted chair shall be tested in the minimum and maximum loaded conditions: a) to avoid finger entrapment, table mounted chairs shall not incorporate open-ended tubes, or include gaps or openings between 5 mm and 12 mm, measurements being taken in compli

When tested in accordance with 6.2.3.2, this requirement is satisfied if the 5 mm diameter cone cannot go or if the 12 mm diameter cone goes; b) to avoid limb entrapment, table mounted chairs shall not include gaps or openings be
、tween 25 mm and 45 mm, measurements being taken in compliance with 6.2.3.2. When tested in accordance with 6.2.3.2, this requirement is satisfied if the 25 mm diameter cone cannot go or if the 45 mm diameter cone goes; Page 4 EN 1272:1998 BSI 1998 a)b)c) Figure 1 Examples for minimum radii of edges
