The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee PRI/3, Textile floor covering
3、s. A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on request to its secretary. Additional information BSI, as a member of CEN, is obliged to publish EN 1307:2008 as a British Standard. However, attention is drawn to the fact that during the development of this European Standar
4、d, the UK committee consistently voted against its approval as a European Standard. The reason for this disapproval is that BS EN 1307 relies on BS EN 1471 for the change in appearance classification. The UK Committee, PRI/3 (which mirrors the work of CEN Technical Committee, CEN/TC 134), voted agai
5、nst the approval of EN 1471 at the Formal Vote stage. National Annex NA to BS EN 1471 provides information on the limitations of BS EN 1471 for any organization using it as the basis of classification or guidance. It is the opinion of the UK committee that the variability of results in assessing app
6、earance change in accordance with EN 1471 is significant, and that this variability can lead to major differences in class when applied to BS EN 1307. National Annex NA to BS EN 1307 provides information on this British Standard in order that any organization using it as the basis of a contract spec
7、ification or a carpet labelling scheme are made aware of certain limitations and, where possible, can build in safeguards to overcome these. This publication does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users are responsible for its correct application. Compliance with a B

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2008. Attention is drawn to the possibility that

Scope This European Standard specifies the requirements for classification of all wall-to-wall pile
23、 carpets and pile carpet tiles (see ISO 2424) into use classes in respect of wear and appearance retention and classes for luxury rating. This European Standard is also applicable to pile carpet tiles, the additional requirements for which are given in Annex A. This European Standard is not applicab
24、le to needled carpets or to rugs. This European Standard refers to the classification as defined in EN 685. 2.
