Together with BS EN 13923:2005 it supersedes BS 4994:1987 which remains current and will be declared obsolescent as of 31 Dece
3、mber 2009. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee PRI/5, UK steering committee for CEN/TC 210 GRP tanks. A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on request to its secretary. BS EN 13121 is published in four parts. BS EN 13121-1:2003

5、S EN 13121-4:2005, GRP tanks and vessels for use above ground Delivery Installation and maintenance The scope of this Part 3 covers those tanks and vessels that work up to a 10 bar pressure, for above ground use only. This standard has therefore been prepared under the European Commission Mandate 83
6、/139/EEC, the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), which has been in force since May 2002. The design and manufacture of tanks and vessels in GRP can involve a number of different materials to produce a suitable construction, and employ combinations of different types of reinforcement materials. This
7、 allows designers to select laminate constructions that are best suited for their purpose and the most cost effective in terms of production. With the publication of BS EN 13121-3:2008, the current British Standard BS 4994:1987 for the design and construction of tanks and vessels in reinforced plast
8、ics will be declared obsolescent as of 2009-12-31 as it can still be used to cover those tanks and vessels that are still in service at that time, since equipment designed, constructed and maintained to that standard is considered to have a long working life. This publication does not purport to inc
