It sh

23、of attenuation and optical discontinuity 3Preparation of specimens 3.1Specimens shall be fitted with normal accessories and terminated in accordance with the product standard. If not yet at standard test conditions, the specimens shall be subjected to standard test conditions and stabilized at these
24、 conditions for 24 h as defined in EN 2591-100. 3.2Unless otherwise indicated in the technical specification, the following details shall be specified: load; type and length of cable/fibre; maximum value of insertion loss. 4Apparatus See EN 2591-602 plus: a test set-up which has a movable beam with

26、 4 5Method 5.1Test conditions The force specified in the product standard shall be applied at a rate of 10 mm/min. Unless otherwise stated, the maximum force shall be maintained for 1 min. 5.2Test sequence Method A: for testing contacts. Insert specimen in reference optical connection element and me
27、asure insertion loss (EN 2591-601). Remove specimen from reference optical connection element, place in jig and apply cable pulling test to the contact. Insert specimen in reference optical connection element and measure insertion loss (EN 2591-601). Method B: for testing optical connection elements
28、, couplers and permanent connections. Insert in test set-up and apply cable pulling test. The variation of attenuation (EN 2591-602 Method A) shall be continuously monitored throughout the test. On completion, remove the load. NOTEIf the optical connection element utilizes removable contacts, these
