29、erwise specified on the order or the inspection schedule all plate over 12 mm in thickness shall be ultrasonically tested in accordance with EN 2004-2 and shall satisfy the requirements of class A when the plates are delivered in the machined condition they shall have been testing before machining.
30、6 External defects 6.1 Surface quality of sheet, strip and formed profiles Unless otherwise specified on the order or the inspection schedule the surface quality shall be determined by visual examination in accordance with Table 2. The frequency of examination shall be sufficient to permit the manuf
31、acturer to certify compliance with the requirements of Table 2. Penetrant flaw detection may be applied in accordance with EN 2002-16, to verify the extent or existence of surface defects. 6.2 Surface quality and metal removal of machined plates 6.2.1 Surface finish shall conform to the roughness re
32、quirements specified on the order or inspection schedule. Plate shall be free from machining damage which may change the characteristics of the material. 6.2.2 The quantity of metal to be removed shall be agreed by the purchaser and the manufacturer. 6.2.3 Witness of the removed metal quantity shall
33、 be given by the following method (or any other equivalent method): 10 mm diameter circles shall be hard stamped on the four edges of the plate, tangential to the face(s) to be machined. On each edge, at least 3 circles shall be stamped, one at each end and at the middle of the length, after machini
34、ng the remained of the circles give witness of the metal removed. 7 Tensile test 7.1 Tensile test samples shall be selected and tests carried out in accordance with the requirements of the material standard. The location of the test samples shall be in accordance with the requirements of Table 3. Te
35、st results shall meet the requirements of the material standard. Notwithstanding the requirements of the material standard, longitudinal tests on plate may be made the subject of the “capability clause” when the manufacturer can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the purchaser that he is able to con
36、sistently supply products with tensile properties which comply with the requirements of the material standard. 7.2 Tensile testing shall be performed in accordance with the requirements of EN 2002-1. Tests on material up to 12 mm in thickness shall be made on specimens of full thickness. Tests on th
37、icker product shall be performed on proportional round test pieces of the form and one of the sizes indicated in EN 2002-1. The number of tests per batch is defined in Table 10. 7.3 Notwithstanding the requirements of the material standard, tensile tests in the ST direction on plate with thickness 2

39、 and formed profiles of a thickness greater than 1,2 mm supplied in the T.-condition shall be subject to either electrical conductivity measurement or hardness testing to demonstrate that the material has been properly heat treated. The method used shall be at the discretion of the manufacturer unle
40、ss a specific method is specified by the purchaser. 9.2.1 Electrical conductivity measurement Measurement shall be in accordance with EN 2004-1. The positions chosen shall be at the discretion of the manufacturer provided they are representative of the product. The values obtained shall conform with
41、 values specified in the material standard and the maximum variations per product and batch shall be limited to the following values: Minimum test frequency shall be in accordance with Table 5. Table 5 9.2.2 Hardness testing Each sheet, coil of strip and formed profile shall be hardness tested. Test
42、ing shall be in accordance with EN 2002-7. The positions chosen shall be at the discretion of the manufacturer provided they are representative of the product. The values obtained shall conform with values specified in the material standard. The product of lowest hardness shall be selected for the t
43、ensile test. The tensile test piece shall be hardness tested. 10 Cladding 10.1 Thickness The thickness of the cladding shall be inspected by the method set out in EN 2004-5. The “capability clause” may be applied
47、to this requirement. 10.2 Diffusion of copper This testing applies to clad sheet and formed profiles of 2xxx2) series and shall be carried out in accordance with EN 2004-5. The maximum depth in the grain boundaries shall be in accordance with Table 6. One test sample shall be selected from each batc
48、h in the delivery condition. The “capability clause” may be applied to this requirement. Table 6 NOTEIf a more stringent requirement is demanded for particular alloys, the requirements shall be indicated on the order or in the inspection schedule. 11 Fracture toughness and notch yield ratio Re/Rp0,2
49、 tests for plate 11.1 Fracture toughness (KIC) KIC values shall be determined in accordance with the method defined in EN 2002-22. For each specified direction, the value of KIC shall be in accordance with the value specified in the material standard. Test directions and locations shall be in accordance with Table 7. Table 7 Frequency of fracture toughness testing is governed by the “capability clause”. 11.2 Notch yield ratio Re/Rp0,2 (NYR3) The Re/Rp0,2 test shall be made in accorda
