8、his British Standard has been prepared by Subcommittee CPL/61/6, and is the English language version of EN 50144-2-15:1997 Safety of hand-held electric motor operated tools Part 2-15: Particular requirements for hedge trimmers, published by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization
9、 (CENELEC). It is to be read in conjunction with BS EN 50144-1:1996 General requirements, which it supplements or modifies. The many references to Part 1 should be read as references to BS EN 50144-1:1996 which is the English language version of EN 50144-1:1995. The foreword of EN 50144-2-15 makes r
10、eference to the “Date of withdrawal”, dow, of the relevant national standard. In this case the relevant national standard is BS 2769-2.14:1992. However, at present BS 2769-2.14:1992 is not being withdrawn as it still contains requirements for scissor-type grass shears. It will be withdrawn only when
11、 BS EN 60335-2-94: Particular requirements for scissor-type grass shears, is also published (draft for public comment 94/210269 DC). In accordance with CENELEC Memorandum No. 6 with regard to certification, certificates and marks will not be awarded after 31 December 1997 with respect to the require
12、ments for hedge trimmers contained in BS 2769-2.14:1992. Attention is drawn to Note 7 to Memorandum No. 6 which states: “The use of the certificate or mark licence in the running production may not go on for more than 60 months after dow. This should allow necessary changes in the production line an
13、d to use up supplies. Within the established period after dow the certificates and mark licences will have to be reconsidered and cancelled or reissued”. For tools intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, as in ships and vehicles, and in hazardous locations, for example, wh
14、ere explosions are liable to occur, requirements additional to those specified in the standard may be necessary. This standard calls for test procedures that may be injurious to safety or health if adequate precautions are not taken when conducting tests. Product certification Attention is drawn to
15、the fact that products conforming with this British Standard may be approved by BSI Product Certification, and that such certification may be used for the purposes of participation in the CENELEC Certification Agreement (Details of the BSI certification marks are on the inside back cover). A British
16、 Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. The text of the draft was submitted to the Unique Acceptance Procedure (UAP) in July 1994 and was approved by CENELEC as EN 50144-2-15 on 1995-03-06. This
26、 European Standard partly replaces HD 400.3N S2:1992. The following dates were fixed: As far as certification is concerned, CENELEC Memorandum 6 applies. This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CENELEC by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association and s
27、upports essential requirements of EC Directives This standard is divided into two parts Part 1: General Requirements, comprising clauses of a general character; Part 2: Particular Requirements, dealing with particular types of appliances. 38、one or more linear reciprocating cutter blades. NOTEThis standard is not applicable to hedge trimmers with rotating blade or hedge trimmers powered by back-pack or other external source. 2 Definitions This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 2.2 Replacement: 18 normal load continuous o
39、peration with no external load applied the cutting devices being adjusted as for normal use NOTEThe normal load is based on the rated voltage or upper limit of the rated voltage range. Addition: 101 blade tooth the part of the cutter blade which is sharpened to perform the shearing action, see Figur

They shall be written in one of the official language(s) of t

If the marking is cast, embossed or stamped colours are not required. 7.13.2 Addition: The sheet shall include, as a minimum, information under th
49、e following headings: 1) Identification and nomenclature of parts involved in safety provisions. 2) Assembly instructions (if the tool is supplied with parts to be assembled by the user). 3) Meaning of the symbols used on the tool. 4) Operating instructions including at least the following: starting and stopping with reference to safety; supply cable, extension cord, type of plug and socket and recommendation for the use of a residual current device; ensuring a stable position of the body; warning about damp o
