10、 National foreword This British Standard has been prepared under the direction of the Electrotechnical Sector Board and is the English language version of EN 60335-2-10:1995, Safety of household and similar electrical appliances Part 2 Particular requirements for floor treatment machines, published
11、by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). It is identical with IEC 335-2-10:1992 (fourth edition) published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The foreword of EN 60335-2-10 makes reference to the date of withdrawal, dow, of the relevant national s
12、tandard. In this case the relevant national standard is BS EN 60335-2-10:1992 which will be withdrawn on 1 January 1998 in accordance with the CENELEC Internal Regulations. Certificates and marks will not be awarded after this date with regard to the withdrawn British Standard. However, such certifi
13、cates and marks, already awarded, may continue to apply to production until 1 January 2003. This British Standard is to be read in conjunction with BS EN 60335-1:1995, Safety of household and similar electrical appliances Part 1 General requirements. The many references to Part 1 should be read as r
14、eferences to BS EN 60335-1:1995, which is the English language version of EN 60335-1:1994 which was derived from IEC 335-1, third edition 1991, second impression 1993. Amendments and revisions of Part 1 have also to be taken into account, and the dates when such changes become applicable will be sta
15、ted in the relevant amendment or revision of Part 1. Product approval. Attention is drawn to the fact that products conforming to this British Standard may be approved by the British Electrotechnical Approvals Board for the purposes of participation in the CENELEC Certification Agreement and in the

26、 BSI EN 60335-2-10:1995 BSI 10-1999 2 Foreword The proposal to endorse IEC 335-2-10:1992, document CLC/TC 61 (SEC) 855, was circulated under the enquiry procedure in March 1993. This proposal was discussed during the Oslo meeting in April 1994, when it was decided to submit a draft for EN 60335-2-10
27、 to the formal vote. This draft was circulated in November 1994 and was ratified by CENELEC as EN 60335-2-10 on 1995-05-15. This European Standard has been prepared by the secretariat of CENELEC Technical Committee TC 61. The following dates are applicable: For products which have complied with EN 6
28、0335-2-10:1990 including its amendment A1:1992 before 1998-01-01, as shown by the manufacturer or by a certification body, this previous standard may continue to apply for production until 2003-01-01. This standard has to be used in conjunction with EN 60335-1, Safety of household and similar electr
29、ical appliances, Part 1: General requirements. It was established on the basis of the 1994 edition of that standard. Amendments and revisions of Part 1 have also to be taken into account and the dates when such changes become applicable will be stated in the relevant amendment or revision of Part 1.
30、 This Part 2 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses of EN 60335-1, so as to convert it into the European Standard: Safety requirements for electric floor treatment machines and wet scrubbing machines. Where a particular subclause of Part 1 is not mentioned in this Part 2, that subclause a
31、pplies as far as is reasonable. Where this standard states “addition”, “modification” or “replacement”, the relevant text of Part 1 is to be adapted accordingly. Subclauses which are additional to those in Part 1 are numbered starting from 101. There are no special national conditions causing a devi
32、ation from this European Standard, other than those listed in Annex ZA to EN 60335-1. 38、006, Uncontrolled Copy, (c) BSI EN 60335-2-10:1995 BSI 10-19993 1 Scope This clause of part 1 is replaced by: This standard deals with the safety of electric floor treatment and wet scrubbing machines intended for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. NOTE 1E
39、xamples of floor treatment machines are: floor polishers; floor waxers; floor buffers. NOTE 2Examples of wet scrubbing machines are: rug shampooers; upholstery shampooers; floor scrubbers. Appliances not intended for normal household use but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public
40、, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this standard. So far as practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances which are encountered by all persons in and around the home. This standard do
41、es not in general take into account the use of appliances by young children or infirm persons without supervision; playing with the appliance by young children. NOTE 3Attention is drawn to the fact that for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirem
42、ents may be necessary; for appliances intended to be used in tropical countries special requirements may be necessary; in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour and similar authorities

NOTE 4This standard does not apply to vacuum cleaners and water suction cleaning appliances (IEC 335-2-2); floor treatment machines for industrial purposes; wet scrubbing machines for industrial purposes; machines intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the prese
44、nce of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour, or gas); floor sanding machines. 2 Definitions This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows: 2.2.9 Replacement: normal operation: The appliance is operated under the following conditions: Floor treatment machines are operated continu
45、ously while being moved backwards and forwards at a rate of 15 cycles per min on a polished steel plate over a distance of 1 m. The appliance is fitted with brushes for hard-surface floors in accordance with the instructions for use. NOTEHeating of the steel plate is to be prevented. Forced cooling
46、may be used but care is to be taken to ensure that the air movement does not affect the temperature rises to be determined. Wet scrubbing machines are operated continuously while being moved backwards and forwards at rate of 10 cycles per min on a wet floor over a distance of 1 m. The appliance is f
47、itted with attachments in accordance with the instructions for use. Rug shampooers are operated on a carpet which is fastened inside the bottom of a metal pan which is filled with water to a level approximately 3 mm below the surface of the carpet. The carpet is made of nylon fibres having a pile he
48、ight of approximately 6 mm. Floor scrubbers are operated on untreated smooth pine-wood boards 25 mm thick and approximately 100 mm wide, which are fastened inside the bottom of a metal pan. The pan is filled with water to a level approximately 1 mm above the surface of the boards. Appliances having
49、a liquid dispensing system are operated as described above but initially without water in the pan and with the liquid dispensing system in operation. Upholstery shampooers are operated continuously but rotating brushes and similar devices are not in contact with the upholstery or any other surface. Suction hoses are laid out straight with the inlet unobstructed. Liquid dispensing systems are operated with the liquid container empty. 3 General requirement This clause of part 1 is applicable. 4 General c
