It is identical with IEC Publication 439-2:1987 “Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear a
11、ssemblies, Part 2: Particular requirements for busbar trunking systems (busways)”, published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). In 1993 the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) accepted IEC 439-2:1987 as European Standard EN 60439-2:1993. As a conseq
12、uence of implementing the European Standard this British Standard is renumbered as BS EN 60439-2 and any reference to BS 5486-2 should be read as a reference to BS EN 60439-2. This Part of BS 5486 is a supplement to BS 5486-1, which specifies the general requirements for busbar trunking systems. The
13、 following is adapted from the IEC preface. Busbar trunking systems (busways) shall comply with all the general requirements specified in BS 5486-1, unless otherwise indicated in this Part of BS 5486, and shall also comply with the additional particular requirements contained in this Part. This Part
14、 shall be read in conjunction with BS 5486-1. Its clauses and subclauses modify or replace the corresponding clauses of BS 5486-1; their numbering therefore corresponds to the latter. Where there is no corresponding clause or subclause in this Part, the clause or subclause of BS 5486-1 shall apply w
15、ithout modification. Terminology and conventions. The text of the international standard has been approved as suitable for publication as a British Standard without devia- tion. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards. The Technical Committee h
16、as reviewed the provisions of IEC 570, to which reference is made in the text, and has decided that they are acceptable for use in conjunction with this standard. A related British Standard for IEC 570 is BS 4533 “Luminaires” Section 2.6:1979 “Electrical supply track systems for luminaires”. A Briti

27、ure, performed for finding out whether or not the International Standard IEC 439-2:1987 could be accepted without textual changes, has shown that some common modifications were necessary for the acceptance as European Standard. The reference document, together with the common modifications prepared
28、by the CENELEC Technical Committee TC 17D, Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies, and its amendment 1:1991 was submitted to the CENELEC members for formal vote. The text of the draft was approved by CENELEC as EN 60439-2 on 10 December 1991. The following dates were fixed: For products w
29、hich have complied with the relevant national standard before 1993-12-01, as shown by the manufacturer or by a certification body, this previous standard may continue to apply for production until 1998-12-01. As agreed previously, the terms defined in this standard are given in the three official CE
30、NELEC languages (English, French and German), see Annex ZC. Annexes designated “normative” are part of the body of the standard. In this standard, Annex ZA and Annex ZC are normative. 34、1.1 Scope 1.1 Replace the added paragraph by: This standard applies to busbar trunking systems and their accessories. It also applies to busbar trunking systems intended to supply luminaires through tap-off units but does not apply to supply track systems in accordance with EN 60570. 1.2 Add the fol
35、lowing paragraph: The busbar trunking systems considered in this standard are type-tested assemblies (TTA). 2 Definitions 2.1.1.2 Partially type-tested LV switchgear and controlgear assemblies (PTTA) Not applicable. 2.3.4 busbar trunking system (busway) a type-tested assembly in the form of a conduc
36、tor system comprising busbars which are spaced and supported by insulating material in a duct, trough or similar enclosure The assembly may consist of units such as: busbar trunking units with or without tap-off facilities, phase transposition, expansion, flexible, feeder and adapter units, tap-off
37、units. NOTEThe term “busbar” does not prejudge the geometrical shape, size or dimensions of the conductor. Add the following definitions: 2.3.5 busbar trunking unit a unit of a busbar trunking system complete with busbars, their supports and insulation, external enclosure and any fixing and connecti
38、ng means to other units, with or without tap-off facilities NOTETrunking units may have different geometrical shapes such as straight length, elbow, tee or cross. 2.3.6 busbar trunking unit with tap-off facilities a busbar trunking unit designed to enable tap-off units to be installed at one or more
39、 points as predetermined by the manufacturer the connection of tap-off units to the busbar trunking unit may or may not require the busbar system to be disconnected from the supply 2.3.7 busbar trunking unit with trolley-type tap-off facilities a busbar trunking unit designed to permit the use of ro
40、ller- or brush-type tap-off units 2.3.8 busbar trunking adapter unit a busbar trunking unit intended to connect two units of the same system but of different type or of different rated current 2.3.9 busbar trunking expansion unit a busbar trunking unit intended to permit a certain movement in the ax

44、uch as rollers, brushes or plug-in devices 3 Classification of assemblies Add as last item: the mechanical loads they can withstand (see Sub-clause 7.1.1). 4 Electrical characteristics of assemblies Add Sub-clause 4.10 as follows: 4.10 Resistance and reactance values The manufacturer shall state in
45、the manner described in Clause 5 the following mean values of the different phases, if any: The values of R and X may be determined by direct measurement or by calculations from measurements (see Appendix F). 5 Information to be given regarding the assembly 5.1 Nameplates Add after the first paragra
46、ph: One nameplate should be located near one end of each busbar trunking unit and one each tap-off unit. r) resistance, reactance and impedance values. 7 Design and construction 7.1.1 General Add the following text: Busbar trunking systems shall be designed as type-tested low-voltage switchgear and
47、controlgear assemblies (TTA). According to the manufacturers indications, busbar trunking systems are intended to withstand: either normal mechanical loads (see Sub-clause 7.1.1.1), or heavy mechanical loads (see Sub-clause 7.1.1.2), or special mechanical loads (see Sub-clause 7.1.1.3). R =the mean
48、ohmic resistance of the trunking system per metre length per phase: for all busbar trunking systems irrespective of rated current: resistance R20 at a conductor temperature of + 20 C; further, for busbar trunking systems with a rated current greater than 630 A: resistance Rt when thermal equilibrium
49、 is reached at an ambient temperature of + 20 C for the rated current. X=the mean reactance of the trunking system per metre length per phase at rated frequency.
