8、rical appliances Part 2: Particular requirements for coffee mills and coffee grinders, published by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). It was derived by CENELEC from IEC 335-2-33:1987 published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The CENELEC co
9、mmon modifications have been implemented at the appropriate places in the text and are indicated by a side line in the margin. Parts of the original IEC text that have been modified by CENELEC have been quoted in National annex NA. This British Standard is to be read in conjunction with BS 3456-201:
10、1990 General requirements, which it supplements or modifies. The many references to Part 1 should be read as references to BS 3456-201, which is the English language version of EN 60335-1 which was derived from the 1983 reprint of IEC 335-1:1976 including Amendments 1, 2 and 3 to IEC 335-1:1976. Thi
11、s British Standard supersedes BS 3456-102.33:1988, which is withdrawn. Product approval. 22、BSI EN 60335-2-33:1990 BSI 01-2000 2 Brief history The proposal to endorse the second edition of IEC Publication 335-2-33, document CLC/TC 61 (SEC) 558, was circulated under the enquiry procedure in May 1987. This proposal was discussed during the Neusiedl meeting in May 1988 when it was decided to
23、submit a draft for EN 60335-2-33 to the voting procedure. This procedure started in October 1988. The text of this draft was ratified by the CENELEC Technical Board on the 12th of June 1989. Foreword This European Standard has been prepared by the Secretariat of CENELEC Technical Committee 61. The f
24、ollowing dates are applicable: This European Standard replaces HD 260 S3:1987. For products which have complied with HD 260 S3:1987 before 1990-06-01, as shown by the manufacturer or by a Certification Body, this previous standard may continue to apply for production until 1995-06-01. This document
25、supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses of IEC 335-2-33:1987 so as to convert that standard into the European Standard EN 60335-2-33. This standard has be to used in conjunction with EN 60335-1:1998, “Safety of household and similar electrical appliances Part 1: General requirements”, incl
26、uding its Amendments 2:1988, 5:1989 and 6:1989. Where a particular sub-clause of Part 1 is not mentioned in this Part 2, that sub-clause applies as far as it reasonable. Where this standard states “addition”, “modification” or “replacement”, the relevant requirement, test specification or explanator

35、This standard applies to coffee mills and coffee grinders having hoppers with a capacity not exceeding 500 g of coffee beans, and intended for household use only. Coffee grinding and coffee milling attachments intended to be used in combination with multi-purpose kitchen machines are within the scop
36、e of this standard; such machines must also comply with EN 60335-2-14 Particular Requirements for Electric Kitchen Machines. Until an IEC standard for coffee mills and coffee grinders for commercial catering purposes is issued, this standard may form a guide to suitable requirements and tests for su
37、ch appliances. This standard does not take into account the special hazards which exist in nurseries and other places where there are young children or aged or infirm persons without supervision; in such cases, additional requirements may be necessary. For appliances intended to be used in vehicles
38、or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary. For appliances intended to be used in tropical countries, special requirements may be necessary. Attention is drawn to the fact that in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities. 2
39、Definitions This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 2.2.30 Replacement: Normal load denotes the load obtained when the appliance is breaking up roasted coffee beans, any grain-size control which can be adjusted by the user being set to the position giving the smallest grain size. Duri
40、ng operation, the appliance is slightly shaken or tapped. In case of doubt, the coffee beans are conditioned for 24 h at a temperature of 30 2 C in air with a relative humidity of 60 2 % before starting the relevant test; after conditioning it is checked that the beans have a density of 0.65 0.03 g/
41、cm3. Additional definitions: 2.2.101 Coffee mill denotes an appliance designed to break up coffee beans by means of cutting blades rotating at high speed. 2.2.102 Coffee grinder denotes an appliance designed to break up coffee beans by means of disks, cylinders, cones or similar devices. In general,
42、 the process of breaking up coffee beans is known as grinding, whether it is done in a mill or a grinder. 3 General requirement This clause of Part 1 is applicable. 4 General notes on tests This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 4.2 Addition: Three additional samples are required for
43、 the test of Sub-clause 19.101. 4.13 Replacement: The appliance is operated for the period specified for the relevant test, irrespective of any marking for short-time or intermittent operation, unless otherwise specified. Additional sub-clause: 4.101 The appliances are tested as portable appliances,
44、 unless they are designed to be fixed to a support. Hand-held appliances are subjected to the additional tests specified for such appliances. 5 Rating This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 5.1 Replacement: The maximum rated voltage is 250 V. Compliance is checked by inspection of th
45、e marking. 6 Classification This clause of Part 1 is applicable. 7 Marking This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 7.12 Addition: The appliance shall be accompanied by an instruction sheet giving details for safe handling, cleaning and maintenance. 8 Protection against electric shock
46、This clause of Part 1 is applicable. 9 Starting of motor-operated appliances This clause of Part 1 is applicable. 10 Input and current This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 10.1 Modification: Instead of the test specification, the following applies: Compliance is checked by measurin
47、g the input of the appliance, operated at rated voltage and under normal load, 10 s after the appliance has been switched on or immediately before the grinding operation is completed, whichever is the shorter period. For e
49、ach period of operation, the appliance is kept switched on for the time required to grind the quantity of coffee beans necessary to fill the collecting container completely, to grind 125 g of coffee beans or to empty the hopper, whichever is the shortest period, unless a timer is provided, in which case the timer is adjusted to the longest period that can be provided. Before each period of operation, the hopper is completely filled with coffee beans. Other appliances are operated three times, with a rest period of 1 min between t
