9、all be used in conjunction with BS HR 100, Sections 1 and 5. 2 Manufacture The material shall be manufactured by one of the following processes: 1) air melting; 2) vacuum melting; 3) air melting and vacuum refining; 4) consumable electrode remelting. 3 Chemical composition The alloy shall contain: 4
10、 Condition Unless otherwise agreed, the material shall be supplied in the appropriate condition stated below: 5 Heat treatment 5.1 Solution treatment 5.1.1 Material up to and including 6 mm thickness shall be heated at a temperature of 1 150 10 C for 5 min to 15 min, followed by cooling in air or ot
11、her suitable medium. 5.1.2 Material over 6 mm thickness shall be heated at a temperature of 1 150 10 C for the appropriate time shown below, followed by cooling in air. 5.2 Precipitation treatment. The material shall be heated at a temperature of 800 10 C for 8 h, followed by cooling in air. 6 Selec
12、tion and preparation of mechanical test samples 6.1 General. The selection and preparation of mechanical test samples shall comply with the requirements of BS HR 100, together with the following additional requirements for a welded tensile test. 6.2 Welded tensile test 6.2.1 A welded test sample sha
13、ll be prepared by automatic argon arc butt welding strips not less than 50 mm wide, selected from one batch of solution treated material in each cast. 6.2.2 Welds on material up to and including 1.2 mm thickness shall be produced without using a filler. 6.2.3 The standard of welding shall be agreed

17、The mechanical properties obtained from test pieces machined from test samples selected, prepared and tested in accordance with the relevant requirements of BS HR 100 and Section 6 of this standard, shall be as follows. The gauge length for the determination of elongation per cent shall be 25 mm. 7.
18、1.1 Plain tensile test at 780 C 7.1.2 Welded tensile test at 780 C (only applicable to sheet and strip) 7.1.3 Creep test 7.1.4 Single bend test (only applicable to sheet or strip). Each test piece shall be bent at room temperature, without cracking, through an angle of 180 over a former with a radiu
19、s to 1.5 the nominal thickness of the sheet or strip. 7.2 Hardness 7.2.1 The hardness of plate, sheet or strip up to and including 6 mm thickness and heat-treated in accordance with 5.1.1 shall be not greater than 99 HRB. 7.2.2 The hardness of plate greater than 6 mm in thickness and heat-treated in
