19、n of -particles, Compton and photoelectrons in emitters and insulators material, absorption of which is the quanta of radiation captured in the emitters and insulators material; it is equal to a fraction of the neutrons contributing to the SPND current as a result of interaction with the emitters ma
20、terial; N is the number of atoms of neutron sensitive element in a unit of emitters volume, is the radiation capture cross-section. b) Change of SPND response (burn-up) The rate of reduction of a number of emitters nuclei as a result of nuclear reaction can be shown as dN/dt = fn N where fn is the c
21、oefficient which takes into account perturbation of the neutron flux by the detector. The variation of response is a function of the electrical charge (q) produced by the SPND: d/dq = fn . It is convenient to use the rate of response variation referred to as the original response value = d/(0dq). c)
22、 Reproducibility of initial response (0) This is the deviation of response (0) from the nominal value referred to the nominal value of response : 0 = 0 / 0 d) Gamma-response () This is the current generated by the SPND in the gamma field at unit dose rate = i / P where P is the dose rate. e) Current
23、 of the signal wire This is the current generated as a result of the interaction of reactor ionizing radiation with the SPND signal wire. Signal wire currents include neutron, electron and gamma constituents. f) Delay in response time Measurement techniques have been developed using activation type
24、SPNDs that ensure measurement of neutron flux density without a delay in response time. g) Insulation resistance There is no unequivocal link between SPND insulation resistance in normal climatic conditions (20 ) and in operating conditions.
