Obsolescent (by Amendment No. 1) The need for the material covered by this British Standard has been reviewed and it has been decided that, in the interests of rationalization, it
9、 should be regarded as obsolescent. Its use for new designs is not therefore recommended. The standard will be withdrawn in due course. 1 Inspection and testing procedure 1.1 This British Standard shall be used in conjunction with BS 2T 100, Sections 1 and 2. 1.2 Sulphur printing or deep etching tes
10、ts. Samples shall be selected in accordance with BS 2T 100, 1.6.2.1. 1.3 The dimensional tolerances shall be in accordance with BS 2T 100, Tables 3 and 6. 2 Process of manufacture The steel shall be manufactured by an electric process unless otherwise agreed between the manufacturer and the purchase
11、r in accordance with BS 2T 100, 1.3.1. 3 Chemical composition The steel shall contain: 4 Surface dressing The steel shall be overall dressed in accordance with BS 2T 100, 1.5.1. 5 Condition Tubes shall be supplied finally heat treated, free from scale, and with a surface finish complying with the re
12、quirements of 10.2. 6 Final heat treatment Softening shall be carried out by heating at a temperature between 1 000 C and 1 100 C and cooling in a suitable manner. Element % min.max. 14、dance with the relevant requirements of BS 2T 100 shall comply with the following: 1) Tensile test. The values in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. 2) Flattening test. The distance between the inner sides of the test piece in the direction of flattening shall be 1T or 0.5 bore diameter wh
15、ichever is the smaller. 3) Bend test alternative to 2). The test piece shall be closed flat. 7.2 Hardness test. The hardness of the tubes shall be not greater than 170 HB or 180 HV. 8 Intercrystalline corrosion test 8.1 Test samples shall be selected in accordance with BS 2T 100, 3.8.1 1). 8.2 The s
16、amples shall be tested in accordance with BS 2T 100, 3.8.2, 3.8.3 and 3.8.4 and shall be subjected to the flattening test in accordance with 7.1 2) or the bend test in accordance with 7.1 3). 9 Microscopic examination 9.1 From tubes of 0.7 mm nominal wall thickness and thinner, test samples shall be
17、 selected and prepared in accordance with BS 2T 100, 3.7.6.1 and 3.7.6.2. 9.2 Each section shall be examined at a magnification of 200 diameters and shall show no visible evidence of continuous intergranular carburization, oxide penetration, oxidation or other surface of sub-surface contamination to
18、 a greater depth than 0.08 mm at either the inner or outer surface of the tubing. At any position examined the total contamination at the inner and outer surfaces shall be not greater than 0.12 mm. 10 Special tests 10.1 Drifting test. The tubes tested in accordance with the requirements of BS 2T 100
19、, 3.7.2 shall withstand drifting until the inside diameter of each drifted end has a dimension not less than 30 % greater than the original inside diameter. 10.2 Surface finish. The surface finish of test samples selected and prepared in accordance with BS 2T 100, 3.7.5 shall be determined in the lo
20、ngitudinal direction at five positions on the outer surface.
