This standard, together with BS 8888 and other implemented European and International Standards listed in annexes A and B of BS 8888, supersedes all parts of BS 308 which are withdrawn. The European and International Standards that were implemented to form subsection
6、s of Part 3 of BS 308 and were dual numbered, are now listed by the implementation number only, e.g. BS EN ISO xxxx. The pocket guide previously available is currently under review. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee TDW/4, Engineering drawing, metrology, pr
7、ecision measurement and all related documentation, which has the responsibility to: aid enquirers to understand the text; present to the responsible international/European committee any enquiries on the interpretation, or proposals for change, and keep the UK interests informed; monitor related inte

The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each memb
16、er body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Ele

21、 It influences chain link 3 of the Size, Form of line Derived feature, Form of surface Derived feature, Orientation Derived feature and Location Derived feature chains of standards in the general GPS matrix. For more detailed information on the relation of this part of ISO 14660 to other standards a
22、nd the GPS matrix model, see annex A. Geometrical features exist in three “worlds”: the world of specification, where several representations of the future workpiece are imagined by the designer; the world of the workpiece, the physical world; the world of inspection, where a representation of a giv
23、en workpiece is used through sampling of the workpiece by measuring instruments. It is important to understand the relationship between these three worlds. ISO 14660 defines standardized terminology for geometrical features in each world as well as standardized terminology for the relationship and c
24、ommunication between each world. This part of ISO 14660 is part 2 of a series of standards under preparation dealing with geometrical feature definitions. Extracted features are not geometrical perfect and need further detailed definitions compared to the corresponding nominal features to be unambig
