ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization. International Standards are drafted in accordance

Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International Standard requires ap

14、1Scope This International Standard specifies two methods for the determination of the percentage of size (coating) on the glass fibre that is soluble in acetone. These test methods are applicable to continuous rovings only. 2Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable f

16、methods are described in this International Standard, both using acetone as the solvent. a)Method 1, extraction of the size from a specimen in a Soxhlet apparatus. b)Method 2, marination at room temperature for a more extended period. 3.2Solubility of the size The solubility is determined as the dif

NOTEInterlaboratory tests have highlighted a difference between the averages of the results obtained from the two methods. A possible explan
18、ation for this difference is that the specimens are not dried prior to the extraction in method 1 (the Soxhlet extraction), while they are dried for method 2 (room-temperature marination). However, the distributions of the results about the mean are similar for the two test methods. 4Apparatus 4.1Fo
