These devices are typically used with active rooftop satellite receiving antennas to 1) increase overall signal gain at the antenna or 2) improve the antenna systems signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). OFFA state in which there is negligible power consumption. ONA state in which the STB is act
14、ively delivering its principal functions and some or all of its applicable Secondary Functions. Parasitic InterfaceAn interface that sends or receives power from a source other than directly from the mains. An example for cable STBs would be an interface for a CableCARD device wherein the CableCARD
15、receives its power from the STB. Power (Watts, Kilowatts, etc.)A measure of the rate of energy consumption. The power required by a device represents that devices demand on the energy source. In more concise terms, power is the voltage applied to a device times the current passing through the device

SLEEPA state in which the device has greater power consumption, capability, and responsiveness than it does in the OFF state, and h

24、icable, and retransmission of the audio/video associated with the service to a display and/or recording device. An additional feature is provision of a navigation interface (e.g. electronic program guide (EPG) that allows the user to select one of many available audio/video services for presentation
