12、definitions used to describe the life cycle status of a product When required by the customer, a component or piece of equipment needs to be identified as to where it is in its life cycle. Such information can be useful when specifying parts for use in new systems or as replacements in existing syst

The time remaining in the phase or stage and the time until the end of the products life are also required. The time must be expressed

Non-member information may be included through agreements with the EIA. The IA is the owner of the published information. GENERAL REFERENCED EIA DOCUMENT

The probability of obsolescence diminishes rapidly; but, parts in this phase must also be evaluated against the cost and availability limitations prior to being considered for use in new system design. 3.2.3 Maturity (Stage 3) In the maturity phase, sales peak and then st

During this phase some technology leading suppliers may start to migrate to the next generat

The probability o f obsolescence starts to increase slowly. The parts in this phase may be very cost-effective for the n
