This specification details the requirements of a floor pan sealant patch. The matcriai is intended to seal intaior body joints against water, dust an
2、d air intrusion. 1.1 The material must be a smooth a n d homogeneous mixture free of air, lumps, unmixed particles and foreign materiais. 1.2 The matcriai must a d h m to di production ELPO coatings and topcoat ovenpray as detaiicd on the Sealer Substrate Com- patibility charts for each approving di

5、pe;tits, (AU M C C schedules arc specified in m d ttmpenitures.) 3.1 PHYSICAL PROPERTIES. 3.1.1 Specific Gravity (ASTM D792): 1.1 to 1.7 typical. How- ever, an individual specific gravity range for each approved source will be set at the time of approval to this specification. This specific gravity
6、range shall become a requirement of that approved matcriai. 3-12 Solids Content (GM9010P) . . . . . . .97% by mass min. 3.1.3 Odor (GM9832P). The sealer must not have a toxic or noxious odor. 3.2 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS. 32.1 Adhesion. (3) sets of sealer pan& per each ELPO and topcoat as dctaiicd o
7、n the Sealer Subsuate Compatibility chart for each approving division, under this specification, shall be prepared per GM9801P and baked as follows: Low Bake System: 25 minutes Q 115C + 25 minutes Q 115C 25 minutes Q 157C + 25 minutes 115C High Bake System: 3.2.1.1 The sealer matcriai must not crack
8、 or lose adhesion to the substrates prior to, duhg or after the foiiowing conditions: Initial: After cooling to room temperarure Exterior Cycle (GM9502 Cycle F ) : waks Heat Aging: 336 h 70C Cold Resisuuice (GM901 1P): Gasoliae Resistance (GM9505p Cycle L). ?Lpe B only: 32.2 Shrinkage (GM9037P). Mat
9、erial baked per 3.2.1 (high bake system) must have no more than 5% shrinkage. 3.2.3 Porosity. The material must show no sign of trapped air b m either an extenial omation or a sectionai view before or 32.4 Corrosion R e s i s t a n c e . Apply 2 beads of sealer 35 x 2.5 x 180 mm to the surface of a
10、phosphated steel panel (inspect panel first tobe sure it is h e of surface conosion). Bake panel for 1 h 400C. Removefromovenandaiiow to cool toroom tem- m-. 32.4.1 Remove one seala bead from the surface of the panel. There must not be any corrosion on the panel underneath the d e r . 3.2.4.2 Subjec
11、t the panel to 100% RH I 38C for 168 h. 32.4.3 Remove the second sealer bead from the surface of the panel. There must not be any corrosion on the panel surface un- demeath the sealer. 32.5 High Heat Carrosion Resistance. A f t e r completing the bake detailed i n 32.1, the material shall be subject

The material must bridge and seal a 5 mm off- set when baked as follows: 30 minutes 115C 30 minutes 115C Cool t o room temperature 3 . 3 . 2 Smoke (GM9828P). T
16、he scaler must not smoke up to 177C and m u s t not be classed as any more than a slight smoker 191C. 3 . 3 . 3 Blocking. Sealant material, as packaged. must not stick together when stacked one on top of another after 72 h 54C with a 500 g load appiied. 3 . 3 . 4 Carpet Stain. No carpet staining h m
17、 the sealant material is allowed. 3 . 4 Stabfity Requirements (GM9763P). Matcriai conditioned as described b e l o w must be able t o pass all requirements o f this 3 . 4 . 1 Elevated Temperiiaae Stability. The sealer, as shipped, must be capable of withanding a tempcramre o f 54C for 72 h . 3 . 4 .
18、 2 Low Temperanae Stability. The scaler, as shipped, m u s t be capable of withstanding 3 cycles as detailed in 3 . 1 . 2 . 3 o f test method GM9763P. 3 . 4 . 3 Storage Stabii. The sheif iife of the material shall be 90 days at temperatures not to exceed 35C. The shelf life of the matirial commences
19、 upon receipt of the mataial f r o m the manufacturer. 4 SOURCE SHIPMENT RESPONSIBILITY. It will be the responsibility of the suppiier to insure that the material is not exposed to temperatures during shipment which would cause the matcriai to fail to meet any of the requirements of t h i s specific
20、ation. Specification: 5 INITIAL SOURCE APPROVAL. No shipment shall be made by any supplier u n t i l npresentative i n i t i a i production samples have been approved by engineering as m e e t i n g the requirements of t h i s specification. 5 . 1 Completed Copies of the GM Material Safety D a t a S
21、heet and Critical Matcriai Register (available from the engineering department or laboratory), o r equivalent, must be submitted with any new submissions or where a composition change has OcCIIITcd. 6 INSPECTION AND REJECTION. AU shipments of material or parts Under contract or purchase order manufa
22、cturtd to this specification shall be cquivaicnt in every respect to the i n i t i a i samples approved by engineering. Then shall be no changes m either formulation o r manuacnning processts permitted without prior aotifcation and approval by engintaing. Lack of notification by the supplier constit
23、utes grounds for rejection of any shipment while samples may be taken from incoming shipments and checked for confom*uice to dcpcndcn upon pipchasers hspccticm. In addition the supplier shaii be nsponsible for submitting a CERTIFICATE OF ANALYSIS with each batch of mataiai arriving at a piant. This
24、document shall be prepared and provide data in accordance with the rtquirnneatS detailed in GM4389M. 7 APPROVED SOURCES.
