1、I GENERAL MOTORS ENGINEERING STANDARDS Materials and Processes - Fuels & Lubricants LUBRICANT, HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRE MOUNTING 9985709 1 SCOPE. The material conforming to this specification is for use in mounting high performance tires. The require- ments am identical to those contained in 9985555 ex
2、cept for the added requirement contained in 3.2.4. This material is intended to be used without any further dilution with water. 1.1 Tire mounting lubricants may be synthetic based or soap based. This specification was written to allow approval of either one. 1.2 All sources must identify whether th
3、eir material is syn- thetic based or soap based. It is the responsibility of the source to provide documentation that their product conforms to the properties listed below: 2 REFERENCED STANDARDS. 9985555 ASTM D2000 ASTM D460 ASTM E70 3 REQUIREMENTS. (See Table 1 and 2). All tests am to be conducted

The solution, when placed in 125 mL glass container, must be light transparent. 3.1.2 Precipitation. The material shall not separate
6、 from the lubricant solution when stored in a clear glass container at nominal ambient conditions for 168 h. 3.1.3 Freeze-Thaw. The material shall not deteriorate (pre- cipitate, separate, or be degraded in any other manner) over 3 freeze-thaw cycles. 3.1.4 Drying Time. A SBR (styrene butadiene rubb
7、er) test slab (150 x 150 x 1.9 mm) meeting ASTM D20OO Grade AA720 shall be dipped into lubricant solution for 5 s, then placed at a 35 angle at which time the drying time shall begin to be measured. The rubber shall retain a water wet surface after 20 minutes and reach a nonslip state after 24 h. 3.
8、1.5 Residue Solubility. Following complete evaporation (use the test slab from 3.1.4 which was allowed to dry for 24 h), the dried residue from the lubricant solution shall be easily and completely soluble in water. 3.1.6 Corrosion. The lubricant solution or uncut material shall not cause any etchin

Each strip shall be immersed in a separate 100 mL test tube containing 25 mL of the lubricant solution. The test tube shall be lightly stoppered w

The metal strips shall be examined under magnification of 20X and shall evidence no more corrosion than a control sample using dis- tilled water. 3.1.8 Material approval, which includes 3 through 3.1.7, is the resp

13、ssembly Plant. The tire-wheel assemblies will be evaluated for Radial First Harmonic Force Variation (RlH). Using the current reject limit at the time of evaluation the candidate lubricant performance must be equal to or better than the current lubricant being used at CPC Bowling Green. A comparison
