The mate
2、rial is API CJ-4, SAE 15W-40 engine oil. 1.2 Symbols. Not applicable 1.3 Typical Applications. This diesel engine oil is intended to be factory-fill engine oil for light- duty trucks, vans, and medium-duty vehicles equipped with diesel engines. 1.4 Remarks. Not applicable. 2 References Note: Only th

GMW3001 GMW3059 3 Requirements 3.1 General Requirements The engine oil must meet all of the requirements of the American Petroleum Institutes (API) Engine Oil Licensing and Certification System (EOLCS) for the API CJ-4 category as sp
5、ecified in API Publication 1509. 3.1.1 The engine oil must have a current, valid API license for API CJ-4. 3.2 Test Requirements All engine tests required for API CJ-4 must be conducted according to the procedures specified in the American Chemistry Councils (ACC) Petroleum Additives Product Approva
6、l Code of Practice. 3.2.1 It is General Motors intent that the product actually supplied under this specification (that is, the final formulation) will have passed all requirements defined herein. Any formulation changes/modifications, viscosity grade read across, or base oil interchange utilized in
7、 the engine testing program will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In the event that GM does not agree with the suitability of any read across, base oil interchange, or other change, GM reserves the right to require additional testing. 3.3 Data Requirements. A Candidate Data Package must be sup
8、plied to General Motors. The CDP must include, but is not limited to: 3.3.1 Appendix A of this specification completely filled out for the candidate oil, 3.3.2 All test reports obtained for both the candidate oil and appropriate reference oils, 3.3.3 A description of the coding system used to identi
9、fy Formulation/Stand Code numbers, including the meaning of each letter or number (each digit) used in the code, and 3.3.4 A thorough explanation of any differences between the candidate oil formulation and the formulation actually tested in all of tests called for in Appendix A of this specificatio
10、n. 3.4 Viscosity Grade Requirements The engine oil must conform to the SAE 15W-40 viscosity grade requirements as specified in SAE J300. 4 Manufacturing Process Not applicable. 5 Rules and Regulations 5.1 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of GMW3001, Rules and
11、 Regulations for Material Specifications. 5.1.1 Initial Source Approval. 13、uirements of this specification. 5.1.2 Inspection and Rejection. All shipments of material or parts under contract or purchase order manufactured to this specification shall be equivalent in every respect to the initial samples approved by engineering. There shall be no changes in either formulation
14、 or manufacturing processes permitted without prior notification and approval by engineering. Lack of notification by the supplier constitutes grounds for rejection of any shipment While samples may be taken from incoming shipments and checked for conformance to this specification, the supplier shal
15、l accept the responsibility for incoming shipments meeting this specification without dependence upon purchasers inspection. The series of tests used to approve each batch of engine oil along with acceptance limits will be agreed upon by the purchaser and seller. The laboratory providing the certifi
16、cate of analysis must also participate in a proficiency testing program (round robin) that is approved by GMPT Materials Engineering. GMPT Materials Engineering must receive copies of the proficiency testing reports directly from the test program administrator. 5.2 All materials supplied to this sta
17、ndard must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Engineering qualifications of an approved source are required for this standard. Only sources listed in the GM Materials File (i.e., GM Supply Power) under this standard number have
18、 been qualified by engineering as meeting the requirements of this standard. For other GM locations, the responsible engineering group should be contacted to obtain the approved source in that individual country. 6.1 Oil marketers may not claim to meet this specification in whole or in part without
