2、54 Group 56 USSR STATE STANDARD MOULDED PIECES OF AUTOMATIC COUPLER FOR 1520 mm GAUGE RAILWAY ROLLING STOCK General Specifications OKP (All-Union Product Classification Code) 318200 GOST 22703-91 Valid from 01.01.93 until 01.01.98 This Standard applies to the following moulded pieces: coupler carrie
3、r, pull clip, front and rear buffer stops, lock, lockset, locklift, locklift rotary shank, centering beam (hereinafter referred to as pieces). These pieces are designed for an automatic coupler of the rolling stock for 1520 mm gauge railways. This Standard does not apply to the moulded pieces of an
4、automatic coupler for the cars of industrial transport and to the pieces of the draft gear. The requirements of Clauses 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, 1.14, 1.16, 1.18, 1.19, 1.20, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.7, 2.8 and 2.9 and Sections 3, 4 and 5 of this Standard are mand
5、atory. Other requirements are the recommended ones. 1. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 1.1. Automatic coupler pieces shall be produced in accordance with the requirements of this Standard by the working drawings approved in accordance with the established procedure. 1.2. The pieces are divided in two groups.
6、 The coupler carrier and the pull clip refer to the pieces of the first group. The front and rear buffer stops, the lock, the lockset, the locklift, the locklift rotary shank and the centering beam refer to the second group. 1.3. The basic dimensions of the coupler carrier locking contour shall be i
7、n accordance with GOST 21447. 1.4. The maximum deviations for the mold dimensions and mass and also the machining allowances shall correspond to GOST 26645. The deviations of non-machined walls and edges towards their thickness increase in compliance with engineering documentation for specific piece
8、s, agreed with the customer, are allowed. The pieces shall be moulded from the steel of property categ
9、ories 1, 2, 3 and 4 and subjected to the heat-processing. The sulfur and phosphorus content shall not exceed 0.040 % for each element. When melting the steel for the pieces of the second group in acid furnaces the sulfur and phosphorus content shall not exceed 0.05 % for each element. The specific c
10、ontent and permissible deviations of the elements of the steel chemical composition shall be in accordance with specifications for the moulded pieces of the cars. The heat processing type and mode shall be established by the manufacturer. The recommended steel chemical composition and the type of pi
11、ece heat processing for obtaining the steel physico-mechanical properties, required by this Standard, are specified in Appendix 1. N o t e . The steel for piece molding shall pass a weldability test by the technique agreed with the customer. 1.6. The steel for the first-group pieces shall be treated
12、 with deoxidizers (modifiers) while melting. The type and method of steel treatment with deoxidizers (modifiers), and also their amount shall be established by the manufacturer. The recommended practice for steel making and deoxidation is specified in Appendix 2. 1.7. The chemical composition of the
13、 steel of property categories 3 and 4 for the first-group pieces, depending on the carbon content in the melt, shall provide the hardness, specified in Table 1, at a distance of 11.0 mm from the cooled sample end when determining the hardenability by the end quenching method in accordance with GOST

The following designations are used in Table 3: is the yield stress; is the ultimate strength; is the specific elongation; is the specific contraction; KCU-60C is the impact strength at a temperature of -60 ; C-60 C1 K o is the fracture toughness at a temperature of -60 . 22

The structure (fracture mode) and microstructure of the steel of heat- processed first-group pieces shall correspond to the samples approved in accordance with the established procedure. 1.11. The coupler carrier yield load while static stretching with the longitudinal axes displaceme
19、nt by 50 mm and residual strain of 0.2 % shall make no less than 250 tf (2450 kN). 1.12. The pieces shall be chopped and cleaned, the denseners shall be welded with the basic metal, the feeders and the head metal shall be removed in accordance with GOST 977. The trimming and removal of the feeders a
20、nd head metal by the flame cutting shall be carried out before heat processing. It is allowed to remove the head metal and feeder residues by the flame cutting after heat processing. In places hard-to-reach for cleaning the presence of a burning-on and scale, not effecting upon the automatic coupler
21、 assembly quality, is allowed. 1.13. The transverse cracks located on the pull clip traction strips, the cracks on the shank crossbar and in the place of transition from the shank to the coupler carrier head (in the buffer stop area and in the transition of the bottom shank wall to the lock pocket)
22、are not allowed and they are not subject to correction. 1.14. The types, number, dimensions and arrangement of the defects, which are inadmissible, admissible without correction and subject to correction, before and after the final heat processing and machining, and also the methods of defect correc
23、tion by welding shall be specified in engineering documentation for the pieces, agreed with the customer. 1.15. The base-coating or painting of the pull clip, centering beam, brackets, external surfaces of the coupler carrier and the lock signal lug shall be carried out in accordance with engineerin
24、g documentation for the appropriate pieces, agreed with the customer. 1.16. The reliability indexes and the methods of their determination shall be in accordance with engineering documentation agreed with the customer. 1.17.
