NOTE 1: The Fmexe-Thaw Cycle Test con&s of the following: 1. 4 h -1O C 2. 4 h room temperature (22 C) NOTE 2: Immerse in detergent solution 50C (detergent solution is composed of 2.5 g of DuPont #7 Car Wash Com- pound or equivalent per liter of tap water). Rinse with spray nozzle (
9、Spray Systems Co. Full Jet #lL!GG25 or equivalent) with 50C water 70 kPa. The distance between the spray nozzle and panel is to he 250 mm. 12、corrosion inhibitor/coating tested for approv- al to this specification, the rubber and plastic materials selected as representative to test purposes must he reviewed and ap- proved by the Release Engineer and the Rubber and Plastics Material Engineer(s) of the approving division. In addition for ea
13、ch approval test methods and evaluation criteria must also be reviewed as appmpriate for both coating and polymeric materi- als incw into the test program. This review is the re- sponsibii of the Release Engineer and the Rubber and Plastics Materials Engineer(s) of the approving division. For mpmsen
14、&ve samples of production radiator hose, trans- mission oil cooler hose, and engine oil cooler hose, for each GM spzification in current use (Cumnt usage as of November 91 is GM614OM. GM625OM, GM6149M. and GM626OM.) and proj- ected usage, the following tests are conducted: 1. Prepare tensile bars fr
15、om cover stock Prepare 2 sets of samples for each of the following tests (4 sets total for each of the following tests, 2 for each material tested), and evaluate the tensile bars initialIy by visual exmination for any signs of damage or degradation, followed by tensile/elongation testing per ASTM D3
16、80 and ASTM D865. This testing shall be performed after the following preconditionmg: A. B. C. D. None. Testing as received. Testing after 168 h of heat aging 150C, Testing after soaking of tensile bars in sealant solution for 168 h at room temperature. Wash solution off and examine for evidence of
17、damage before conducting tensile test. Testing after completion of following precondi- tioning: 1. Soak tensile bars in sealant solution for 168 h at room temperature. 2. Wash solution off and examine for evidence of damage. 3. Heat age tensile bar for 168 h 15O C. 4. Conduct tensile test. For sampl
18、es of all other production rubber hose and rubber tub- ing materials, for each GM specification in current usage (Cur- rent usage as of November 91 is GM6148M. GM615OM, GM6163M. GM6165M, GM6198M, GM61%M, GM6188M and GM6197M). and Projected usage are tested per the above method except that the heat a
19、ging temperature is reduced to 125 C instead of 15O C. Polyethylene components (GmPE.050) which would be exposed to the material must be tested for compatibility as follows: 1. NOTE 4: A 100 x 300 x .8 mm coated panel when hand held with a white cotton glove shall support a 2.25 kg weight f$ts- tened to the panel 100C. The material shah not tra
24、nsfer to the cotton glove. For samples of nylon fuel tubing representative of cutmnt (No- vember 91 is GM6264M) and intended future production usage, where noted with connectors incorporated into the nylon tubing to a nylon fuel assembly, the following compatibility testing is required (GM908OP and
25、GM906OP). NOTE 5: Material must be readily removable painted surface up to 2 h after application with soap and water. The material is to be removable up to 168 h after application with 9981062 naph- tha without paint degradation. 1. Tensile/elongation testing on as received tubing (GM6264M. 5.4, 5.5
26、) 2. Heat age tubing, both intetior and exterior, for 200 h I 60C 4 IDENTIFICATION. The materid shall be labeled in accordance with GM Shipping/Parts Identification Label Standard GM1724 as shown in the GM Targets for Excellence Manual. This standard is available from GM Photographic (3 13) 422-2970

Remove tubing, wash sealant solution from tubing and examine for evidence of damage to material. 5.1 Completed copies of the GM Material
29、Safety Data Sheet and Ctitical Mamrial Register (available from the enginecrmg depaxtment or laboratory), or quivalem must be submitted with any new submissions or where a composition change has occurred. c. split samples into 4 sets (minimum of 5 samples, 10 for Cold Impact test, must be maintained
30、. Samples for C3 and C4 should be prepared without connectors for stress-cracking prep): 1. For one set, conduct Burst Test (GM6264M. 4.5). 2. For one set, Heat age tubing, both interior and exterior, for 200 h 6O“C. Examine surfaces of tubing for evidence of damage to tubing (use samples from nylon
31、 fuel tubing Section 2 for control). 6 INSPECTION AND REJECTION. Au shipments of material or parts mier contract or purchase order manufactured to this specification shall be equivalent in evety respect to the initial samples approved by engineering. There shall be no changes in either formulation o
32、r manufacturing processes pen&ted without prior notification and approval by engineering. Lack of notification by the supplier constitutes grounds for rejection of any shipment. While samples may be taken from incoming shipments and checked for conformance to this specification, the supplier shall a
33、ccept the responsibility for incoming shipments meeting this specification without dependence upon purchaser s inspection. 3. For one set, conduct Cold Impact Test per GM6264M, 4.12. 4. For one set, conduct Tensile/Elongation Test per GM6264M. 4.5.5.5. 7 APPROVED SOURCES. Engineming qualification of
34、 an approved source is required for this specification. Only sources listed in the GM Corporate Materials File under this specification number have been qualifted by the control division as meeting the mpirements of this specification.
