This specitication details the requirements of a lightweight, low fllmbuild, waterborne, sound deadening mater
2、ial which can be applied by airless spray to primed or topcoated surfaces. 3.1.7 Toxicity. The material must not adversely affect those personnel handling it. 3.2 After Cure Properties. 1.1 The material must be a smooth and homogenous mixture free of air, lumps, tmmixed particles, and foreign materi
3、als, The material shall be asbestos free and be capable of being easily sprayed through airless spray equipment, manual or robotic. When sprayed the material shall give a unifoim coating with a minimum of buildup at the edges of the sprayed film. 3.2.1 Panel Preparation. Two 0.9 x 254 x 254 mm panel
4、s per each topcoat system as detailed on the Sealer Substrate Compatibility Charts for each approving division. Deadmer is to be applied to each panel at a wet film thickness of 0.50 mm. The panels are then air dried vertically for a period of 24 h. 1.2 The material must adhere to production topcoat
5、 sys- tems, as detailed on the Sealer Substrate Compatibility Charts for each approving division. 2 REFERENCED STANDARDS. 3.2.2 Cold Resistance (GM9OllP). After preparing the panels per 3.2.1 of this specification, the panels are then exposed for 336 h at 70 C followed by a minimum of 4 h at -23 C.

7、anels per SAE J1864 3.2.1 of this specification, there shall be no corrosion of tht ASTM D1475 steel in areas protected by the deadener film after 336h exposure in the salt spray cabinet per GM4298P. 3 REQUIREMENTS. 3.1 Physical Properties. 3.1.1 Specific Gravity (ASTM D1475). 1.1 max. An individ- u

Prepare one 6x 508 x 508mm sound panel with deadener at a wet film thickness of 0.5Omm, air dried for 24 h and exposed for 17 h at 70C. The material must be black in color. 3.1.5 Particle Size. The material must be capable of passing through a 0.76mm mesh screen filter. 3.

After preparing the panels per 3.2.1 of this specification and air drying vertically for a period of 2 hours, the total amount of sag shall not be greater than 3.2mm. 3.1.6 Odor (GM9832P). The sealer must not have a toxic or noxious odor. After curing, the sealer must be relatively non- odo
