11、 solderability test m22 s2 PART 2 FOREWORD The present revised edition S2 of CEhTELEC on 9th July, 1975 and the and 22.5. HD22 replaces the original HD adopted by subsequent modifications 22.2, 22*3, 22.4 This revision of HD22 is the outcome of a TC20 decision to endorse the revised IEC Publication
12、245:1980, with a few CENELEC common modifications. These were agreed upon by TC20 and are substantially intended to reduce the number of cable types and constructional alternatives., as well as, for the sake of increased safety, to specify additional tests and/or more stringent requirements, HD22 S2

The values quoted are r.m.s. values. 1.8 Checking of the darability of colours and markings Compliance with this requirement shall be checked by trying to remove the marking of the manufacturers nam
20、e or trademark and the colours of cores or numerals by rubbing lightly ten t i m e s with a piece of cotton wool or cloth soaked i n water. Compliance shall be checked on each core of cable. 1.9.2 I f withdrawal of the conductor is difficult, it shall be stretched i n a tensile machine or the piece of core shall be immersed in mercury until the insulation be

Evaluation of results The m.ean of the 18 values (expressed i n millimetres) obtained from the three pieces of insulation from each core shall be calculated to two decimal places and rounded off as given below, and this shall be taken- as the mean value of the thickness of insulation. I
23、f i n the calculation the second decimal figure is 5 or more, the f i r s t decimal figure shall be raised to the next number; thus for example, 1.74 shall be rounded t o 1.7 and 1.75 t o 1.8. The lowest of all values obtained shall be taken as the minimum thickness of insulation at any place. This
24、test may be combined with any other measurements of thickness, for instance those of P a r t 1, Sub-clause 5.2.4. - 3 - HDS2 S2 PART 2 1 10 Measurement of sheath .thickness 1.10.1 Procedure The thickness of the sheath for circular cables shall be measured in accordance with Sub-clause 4.2 of HD385.
25、One sample of cable shall be taken from each of three places, separated by at least lm. 1.10.2 Evaluation of results The mean of a l l the values (expressed i n nillimetres) obtained from the three pieces of sheath shall be calculated to two decimal places and rounded off as given below, and this sh

28、 overall diameter of any circular cable and of the . overall dimensions of f l a t cables with a major dimension not exceeding 1 5 G shall be carried out i n accordance with Sub-clause 4.3 of HD385. - For the measurement of flat cables with a major dimension exceeding 15mm, a micrometer, a profile p
29、rojector or similar equipment shall be used. The mean of the values obtained shall be taken as the mean overall dimensions. For checking the ovality of circular sheathed cables, two measurements s h a l l be made at the same cross-section of the cable, covering the maximum and minimum values. HD*22*
30、2*S2 82 3404583 0003845 O - 4 - HD22 s2 PART 2 1*12 Solderability test for untinned conductors. 1.12.1 Aim of the test The test is intended to. verify the effectiveness of the separator between the non-tinned conductor and the insulation. 31、elow. 1.12.2 Selection of samples and preparation of test pieces. 1 *12.2 1 One sample having a length suitable for the bending test . defined below is taken at three points i n the cable, and the cores i n each sample are carefully separated from all. other components. 1.122.2 1.12 e 2 e 3 1.12.3 E

33、he stretched fibre i n the second. This cycle of operations is repeated two more times, which represents three bending operations i n one direction and three i n the other. From each sample of core which has been straightened out after the third cycle of bending operations, a test piece having a len
34、gth of about 15 cm is taken from that part of the core which has actually been wound. Each test piece is then subjected to accelerated ageing i n a . . hot-air oven for 240 h at a temperature Of-70 i- - 1OC. . -. . - After this accelerated .ageing, the test - pieces are left at ambient temperature f
35、or at least 16 h. Then each test piece is stripped at one end over a length of 60 mm and is subjected to the solderability test by the solder-bath method described below. Description of the solder bath The solder bath shall have a volume sufficient to ensure that the temperature of the solder remain
36、s uniform at the moment when the conductor is introduced. It shall be provided with a device which maintains the temperature o? the solder- a t 270 + - 10C, The height of the solder bath shall be at least 75 mm, 1.12 e 4 . 1.12.5 HD22 s2 PART 2 The visible surface area of the bathshall be reduced as
37、 far as possible, by using a perforated plate of heat resisting material i n order to protect the core against direct radiation from the bath. The composition o the solder shall be t i n (between 59.5% and 61.5%) and lead. Impurities (as a percentage of the total mass) shall not exceed: Antimony O .
38、50 Bismuth 0.25 Iron 0.02 Copper o .oa Zinc o .o05 Aluminium O. 005 Others O ,080 Test procedure The surface of the solder bath- shall be kept clean and shining. After immersion for 10 seconds at ambient temperature i n a pickling bath constituted by a .solution of zinc chloride in water (ZnC1 being
39、 10% of the total mass), the bared end of each test piece shall be immersed i n the solder bath over a length of 50 mm in the direction of its longitudinal axis. The duration of immersion is -5 + 0.5 s. 2 . The speed of emergence is 25 + 5 mm/s. - - A n interval lasting 10 s is observed from the sta
40、rt of one immersion t o the start of a subsequent immersion. The number of immersions shall be 3. Requirement The part of the conductor that has been immersed shall be adequately tinned. 2. Electrical tests 2.1 I Electrical resistance of conductors _ _ _- - I In order to check the electrical resista
41、nce of conductors, the resistance of each conductor shall be measured on a sample of cable of at least l m . i n length, and the length of this sample shall be measured. The length of the sample, the temperature of the water and the duration of immersion are given i n P a r t 1, Table III. A voltage sha
44、ll be applied i n turn between each conductor and all the others together, connected to the water and the metal central heart, i f . any; and then between all conductors together and the water connected to; the metal central heart, i f any. The voltage anti duration of its application are given for
45、each case i n Part 1, Table III. Voltage test on cores The test applies to sheathed or braided cables. The test shall be made on a sample of cable of 5 m length. The sheath o r . -the overall braid and ,;any other roxesing or filling.,shall be removed without damaging the cores. The cores shall be i
46、mmersed i n water as specified i n P a r t 1, Table 111 and a voltage shall be applied between the conductors and the water. The voltage and the duration of its application are given for each case i n Part 1, Table III. 2.4 (Spare) 2.5 (Spare) 2.6 Test t o check the absence of faults on insulation .
47、 This test shall be carried out as-a routine-test i n the final stage of manufacture either on delivery lengths or on manufacturing lengths before cutting them into delivery lengths. The test shall be either, for single core cables, a spark test in accordance with P a r t 2, Sub-clause 2.6*1, or, fo
48、r multicore cables, a voltage test i n accordance with Part 2, Sub-clause 2.6.2. 2.6.1 Spark test Test requirements : The cable shall withstand the test: voltage specified below without failure of the insulation. The spark test equipment shall detect a puncture i n the insulation having a diamecer e
49、qual to or greater than half of the specified insulatin thickness. The recovery t i m e of the spark tester shall be not-greater than 1 second. Test voltage : The vcfltge applied by the spark tester may be power frequency a.c., d.c., high frequency or of other form. HD22. s2 PART 2 The magnitude and the presence of the voltage shall be such that with. the electrode system employed and at the speed employed for the . passage of the cable through the spark tester the test requirements
