1、 ENGINEERING STANDARDS Material Specification Plastics GMP.E/P.139 Thermoplastic Olefin - UV Stable, 300 Flexural Modulus, Airbag Applications 1 Scope This specification covers the properties of a 300 Mpa flexural modulus, uv stable, injection molded blend of polypropylene and EPDM. 1.1 Paintability
2、. Approved paint systems that can be used on this material are listed in the GM Approved Paint on Parts Systems (GM APOPS) database. 1.2 Symbol. The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 is E/P. 1.3 Typical Application. Typical applications include the following: interior airbag covers. 2 Ref

4、ts on Delivery. Important physical, mechanical and thermal properties that characterize the material are summarized in charts. The color shall be specified on drawings, in material specifications and otherwise. Unless otherwise specified, injection molding of test specimens shall be accomplished per
5、 ISO 294. Tests shall be conducted 40 h minimum after molding and immediately following a conditioning period of 24 h minimum per GMW3221 Code A, unless otherwise specified. All tests shall be performed on unannealed specimens. Tests shall be conducted using the latest issue of the test methods indi
6、cated. Suitable precautions should be taken to ensure that applicable safe limits are not exceeded when conducting test procedures, processes, and/or handling the materials required by this specification.
