9、. Every IEEE Standard is sub- jected to review at least every fi ve years for revision or reaffi rmation. When a document is more than fi ve years old and has not been reaffi rmed, it is reasonable to conclude that its contents, although still of some value, do not wholly refl ect the present state
10、of the art. Users are cautioned to check to determine that they have the latest edition of any IEEE Standard. Comments for revision of IEEE Standards are welcome from any interested party, regardless of membership affi liation with IEEE. Suggestions for changes in documents should be in the form of
11、a proposed change of text, together with appropriate supporting comments. Interpretations: Occasionally questions may arise regarding the meaning of portions of standards as they relate to specifi c applications. When the need for interpretations is brought to the attention of IEEE, the Institute wi

Since IEEE Standards rep- resent a consensus of all concerned interests, it is important to ensure that any interpretation has also received the concurrence of a balance of interests. 18、iesel-Generator Units Applied as Standby Power Supplies for Nuclear Power Generating Stations.) This standard supplements IEEE Std 308-1991, IEEE Standard Criteria for Class 1E Power Systems for Nuclear Power Generating Stations, in that it amplifi es subclause 6.2.4 of that standard (Standby power
19、supplies) concerning requirements for diesel-generator units. The IEEE has developed this standard to provide the principal design criteria, design features, qualifi cation considerations, and testing requirements for individual diesel-generator units, including auxiliary equipment and controls with
20、in the scope of this standard used in the standby power supply of a nuclear facility, which comply with the Nuclear Regulatory Commissions Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR 50). This standard presents specifi c procedures and criteria applicable to qualifying the diesel-generator unit and suppleme
21、nts the criteria described in IEEE Std 323-1983, IEEE Standard for Qualifying Class 1E Equipment for Nuclear Power Generating Stations, and IEEE Std 627-1980, IEEE Standard for Design Qualifi cation of Safety System Equipment Used in Nuclear Power Generating Stations. This revision of the standard p
22、rovides additional detail in the following areas: a) Defi ning specifi c qualifi cation requirements b)Clarifying scope and scope diagram c)Providing requirements for no-load and light-load operation, since extended operation under these conditions may be detrimental to unit performance d) Expanding
23、 factory production testing and site testing criteria e) Updating specifi c surveillance requirements f) Providing guidance for test parameters (annex C) g)Providing guidance for reliability program elements (annex D) This revision of the standard incorporates periodic testing requirements described
24、 in IEEE Std 749-1983, IEEE Standard for Periodic Testing of Diesel-Generator Units Applied as Standby Power Supplies in Nuclear Power Generating Stations, which has been withdrawn. Industry practice is focusing toward monitoring and trending to facilitate aging and reliability determinations. This
