8、ion of the Piping Systems Components. Standards Policy Committee. Together with Part 1 it supersedes BS 6130:1981 which is withdrawn. It is one of a series concerned with hose and hose assemblies for conveying petroleum products. It specifies requirements for ensuring the integrity and standardizati
9、on of two types of rubber hose and hose assembly for conveying asphalt and bitumen, which are hazardous materials at temperatures where they can flow readily. Metallic hose and hose assemblies are specified in BS 6130-1:1993. This new edition reflects the division of BS 6130:1981 into two Parts and
10、does not represent a full review or revision of the standard, which will be undertaken in due course. Product certification. Users of this British Standard are advised to consider the desirability of third party certification of product conformity with this British Standard based on testing and cont
11、inuing product surveillance which may be coupled with assessment of a suppliers quality systems against the appropriate Part of BS 5750. Enquiries as to the availability of third party certification schemes are forwarded by BSI to the Association of Certification Bodies. If a third party certificati
12、on scheme does not already exist, users should consider approaching an appropriate body from the list of Association members. 15、ign, manufacture, performance, testing and marking of two basic types of hose and hose assembly for dockside, road and rail loading and unloading of asphalt and bitumen. The types of hose specified in this standard are unsuitable for conveying coal tar and products containing coal tar. 2 References
16、The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover. 3 Construction and temperature limits The types of hose and hose assembly and their upper temperature limits shall be as follows. Type 1. Rubber, smooth bore, up to 150 C Type 2(a). Rubber, rough bore, u
17、p to 150 C Type 2(b). Rubber, rough bore, up to 200 C 4 Pressure ratings at ambient temperature All types of hose and hose assembly specified in clause 3 shall be classified according to their duties as stated in Table 1. The pressure ratings shall be as specified in Table 1. Table 1 Pressure rating
18、s and classification 5 Nominal sizes The nominal sizes of hose and hose assemblies shall be in accordance with Table 2. Table 2 Nominal sizes 6 Length 6.1 Measurement of length Hose assembly lengths shall be measured from face to face of flanges. NOTENormal maximum hose lengths are 15 m for sizes up
19、 to and including 200 mm and 11 m for sizes over 200 mm. 6.2 Tolerance of length Rubber hose assemblies shall have a tolerance on length of + 2 %, 1 %. 7 End connections Hose assemblies shall have steel, bronze or aluminium nipples. NOTE 1Aluminium nipples should be used only with the prior agreemen
20、t of the purchaser. NOTE 2The grade of steel, bronze or aluminium to be used should be specified by the purchaser. Nipples shall be threaded in accordance with BS 2779, API 5B, ANSI B1.20.1 or ANSI B1.20.7 or shall be provided with swivel flanges. Fittings shall be built-in during manufacture or sha
21、ll be swaged. 8 Materials 8.1 Type 1 hose Hose shall have a synthetic rubber lining, reinforcing plies, a helix or helices of wire complying with the requirements of BS 3592-1 or BS 3592-2 and an outer rubber cover resistant to ageing, abrasion, and contamination with asphalt/bitumen, and which does
22、 not readily support combustion. 8.2 Type 2 hose Hose shall have internal helical galvanized wire complying with the requirements of BS 3592-1 or BS 3592-2, a suitable rubber impregnated textile layer and reinforcing plies. An additional helix of wire shall be incorporated together with an outer rub
23、ber cover resistant to ageing, abrasion and contamination with asphalt/bitumen and which does not readily support combustion. 9 Type approval tests 9.1 General The manufacturer shall carry out the following tests on each new or modified hose assembly and shall supply a copy of the certificate to the
24、 purchaser, if required. The test results, including the burst pressure, shall be stated on the certificate. 9.2 Procedure 9.2.1 Apply the hydrostatic test described in 10.2.2.
