1、 ENGINEERING STANDARDS Material Specification Plastics GMP.PVC.064 PVC 87 Shore A, Weatherable, Integrally Colored, Extrusion Molding Compound 1 Scope This specification covers the properties of a flexible, 875 Shore A hardness, polyvinyl chloride, pellet form, extrusion grade compound. 1.1 Material
2、 Description. Approved paint systems that can be used on this material are listed in the GM Approved Paint on Parts Systems (GM APOPS) database. 1.2 Symbol. The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 is PVC. 1.3 Typical Application. Typical applications include the following: Primary and secon
3、dary weather seals, beltline moldings, door and deck lid seals, glass run channels, and window seals and lace. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards / Specifications. 4、 ISO 1183 ISO 11469 2.2 GM Standards / Specifications. GM9327P GM9503P GM9328P GMW3001 GM9329P GMW3059 3 Requirements 3.1 Requirements on Delivery. 3.1.1 Requirements On Test Specimens. Tests shall be conducted using the latest issue of the test methods indicated. Suitable precautions should be take
5、n to ensure that applicable safe limits are not exceeded when conducting test procedures, processes, and/or handling the materials required by this specification. Tests shall be conducted 40 h minimum after molding and immediately following a conditioning period of 24 hours minimum at 22 3C and 50 5
6、% RH unless otherwise specified. All tests shall be performed on unannealed specimens. In addition, tests specified at temperatures below or above 22 3C shall be conducted at the specified temperature using specimens conditioned at the specified temperature for 4 hours minimum. Test specimens shall
7、be 3.2 0.2 mm thick unless otherwise specified. Property values are the average of an equal number of specimens cut from both the longitudinal and transverse plaque directions. The minimum values specified in the property tables must be met by test specimens in natural, black, or in a standard sampl
8、ed color if natural or black are not available. For colored grades where other pigment and additive systems (e.g. stabilizer) are used, the impact values shall not decrease more than 10 % from the specified minimum value. 3.1.2 Chemical Requirements. All parts manufactured from molding compounds sha
9、ll be resistant to the media they contact, such as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, fuels lubricants, oils, greases and alcohols, at their places of use. Only sources listed in the GM Materials File (i.e., MATSPC) under this specification number have been qualified by engineering as meeting the requirements of this specification. 6 Coding System Thi
