1、Test Procedure Laboratory GMW3040 Heating System Maximum Performance Validation for Passenger Vehicles 1 Introduction Note: Nothing in this procedure supersedes applica- ble laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. Note: In the event of a conflict between the English and t
2、he domestic language, the English language will take precedence. 1.1 Purpose.Validation of the performance capa- bility of vehicle heating systems using reproducible measurements in a climatic wind tunnel. The mea- surements include the following operating conditions: -Soak -Warm up -Idle 1.2 Forewo
3、rd. Not applicable. 1.3 Applicability. For all passenger vehicle heating systems. 1.4 Definitions. Soak:Allow vehicle to cool down with hood and side windows open. Warm Up:The vehicle shall be warmed up at var- ious conditions as specified by the test program. Footwell:Footwell is the average of fiv
4、e temper- atures in each front and three temperatures in each rear footwell area.The temperature sensor(s) for each seat position shall be installed according to Ap- pendix B. Breath Level:The breath level for a particular row is the average of two outboard breath temperature sensors of that row. Th
5、e temperature sensor(s) for each seat position shall be installed according to Ap- pendix B. The vent nozzles shall be adjusted in such a way that the airflow of each nozzle is directed straight back- ward to a line 200 mm below the position of breath temperature sensors. Idle:Idle operation after t
6、he warm up phase or the cool down phase as specified by the test program. Acceleration and Deceleration:Unless other- wise specified, the acceleration and deceleration rates should be within 8 and 10 km/h/s. Test Temperature:Test Temperature is the cli- matic tunnel ambient as defined per the VTS fo
7、r the specific test condition. OSA:Outside Air Mode. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are appli- cable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 Normative. None. 2.2 GM. 8、hassis dynamometer with adjusting possibilities for vehicle speeds of 60 km/h minimum, wind speeds of 60 km/h minimum and ambient temperatures of 35 C minimum. 3.2 Equipment. 3.2.1 General. 3.2.1.1 Temperature measuring and recording equip- ment per Appendix A. 3.2.1.2 Voltage and current measuring
9、and recording equipment for compartment blower(s) and battery(s). 3.2.1.3 Measuring and recording equipment for the engine speed. 3.2.1.4 Device for operation and adjustment of accel- erator pedal. 3.3 Test Vehicle / Test Piece.Passenger vehicle heating system. 3.4 Test Time. The vehicle shall be prepared for the climatic tunnel and shall be equipped with devices according to 3.2 and Appendix A. 4.1.1 Engine Oil, Coolant and Fuel. As released for the engine at the test tempera
12、ture. 4.1.2 Settings.The vehicle ventilation system controls shall be set to Full Hot, Heater, and OSA. The blower(s) switch position (or voltage) is specified by the corresponding VTS. Unless otherwise recom- mended by the manufacturer, the vent outlets shall remain closed (if applicable). 4.2 Cond
13、itions. 4.2.1 Environmental Conditions. Standard condi- tions: -Test temperature: (20 1) C -Pre-soak:5 C below test temperature Deviations are specified by the VTS. Pre-soak tem- perature may be modified to accelerate test. 4.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations from the require- ments of this test proce
14、dure shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on com- ponent drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 4.2.2.1 Vehicle andWindSpeeds. Vehicle and wind speeds as specified in the measurement programs (see 4.3) (wind speed for pre-soak may be modified to accelerate test). 4.2
15、.2.2 Soak. It shall be ensured that the entire ve- hicle is at a uniform temperature (vehicle mass, e.g. seat rail) which is in the range of 1 C of the test temperature prior to start of test. The engine oil tem- perature shall be in the range of 1 C of the test temperature. 4.2.2.3 Warm Up Conditio
16、ns.Vehicle and wind speeds as specified in the measurement program (see 4.3). 4.2.2.4 Idle Conditions. Wind speed as required to maintain tunnel test temperature (10 km/h maximum). 4.2.2.5 Electrical Power Supply. All electrical sys- tems are supplied by the internal vehicle power sup- ply. Headligh
17、ts (low beam), backlight defogging sys- tem and heated seats on high setting (if standard equipment) are switched on at t = 0 minutes. 4.2.2.6 Gear Steps or Drive Positions. The speci- fied vehicle speeds are driven at road load (on level stretches without acceleration). For repeat measurements on v
18、ehicles with automatic transmissions, it shall be ensured that same vehicle speeds are driven at the same lowest engine speeds (see Table 1).
