The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through IS0 technical committees. Eac
4、h member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. IS0 collaborates closely with the Internation
5、al Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization. 10、ure for the evaluation of the freeze-thaw cycle stability of polymer dispersions and synthetic rubber latices. It does not apply to natural rubber latex. The test has no significance if the sample does not freeze under the test conditions. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provi
11、sions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this International Standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this International Standard are encouraged to in- vestigate the

14、nd review of test methods. 3 Principle The viscosity of a sample of the polymer dispersion under test is measured. The sample is placed in a test chamber for 16 h at a temperature of -5 O C , -10 O C or -20 OC, then held for 8 h at 23 O C . Finally, the appearance of the polymer dispersion is checke
15、d. If coagulation has occurred, the test is considered to be completed. In cases of doubt, the viscosity is remeasured. If it has changed by more than the manufacturers specifi- cation limit, then the test is considered to be completed. If it has not changed by more than the manufacturers specificat
16、ion limit, the cycle is re- peated, i.e. the sample is stored at the selected tem- perature for another 16 h and then held at 23 O C for 8 h, up to a maximum number of three cycles, the viscosity of the dispersion being remeasured after each cycle. NOTE 1 The freeze temperature selected will depend
17、on the chemical nature of the polymer dispersion and the tern- perature to which it is exposed in service. If required, pre- liminary tests may be carried out to determine the appropri- ate test temperature. 4 Apparatus 4.1 Cylindrical container, with a large opening fit- ted with a stopper, and wit
