4、48, which has been prepared under the direction of the Dairying Standards Committee, is identical with ISO 5550:1978 “Caseins and caseinates Determination of water content (Reference method)”, prepared by ISO/TC 34, Agricultural food products, of the International Organization for Standardization (I
5、SO) in cooperation with the International Dairy Federation (IDF) and the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC). This Part of the standard supersedes clause 8 of BS 1416:1962 “Methods for the sampling and analysis of rennet casein” and clause 8 of BS 1417:1963 “Methods for the sampling a
6、nd analysis of acid casein”, which are deleted by amendment. Terminology and conventions. The text of the International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as a British Standard without deviation. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in Britis
7、h Standards; attention is especially drawn to the following. The comma has been used throughout as a decimal marker. In British Standards it is current practice to use a full point on the baseline as the decimal marker. Where the words “International Standard” appear, referring to this standard, the
8、y should be read as “British Standard”. Cross-references. Related British Standards for ISO 3310-1 and ISO/R 707, referred to in the text, are respectively BS 410:1976 “Specification for test sieves” and BS 809:1974 “Methods for sampling milk and milk products”. With reference to 5.6, a wire cloth t
9、est sieve of aperture size 500 4m, complying with BS 410:1976 is suitable. With reference to clause 6, the methods for sampling given in BS 809:1974 may be employed. Additional information. With reference to 5.2, a drying oven complying with BS 2648:1955 “Performance requirements for electrically-he
10、ated laboratory drying ovens” is suitable. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. ISO 3310-I, Test sieves Technical requirements and testing Part I: Metal wire cloth. 3 Definition water content of caseins and caseinates the loss of mass determined by the procedure described in this International Standard and expressed as a percentage by mass 4
16、Principle Drying of a test portion at 102 1 C and weighing to determine the loss of mass. 5 Apparatus 5.1 Analytical balance 5.2 Drying oven, well ventilated, capable of being controlled at 102 1 C. 5.3 Flat-bottomed dish of material non-corrodible under the conditions of the test (for example glass
17、 dish with ground-glass cover, or aluminium or stainless steel dish equipped with tight-fitting lid which can readily be removed) of at least 50 mm (preferably 75 mm) diameter and at least 25 mm deep. 5.4 Desiccator, containing an effective desiccant. If silica gel is used, it should be changed dail
18、y. 5.5 Grinding device, for grinding the laboratory sample, if necessary (see 7.1.4), without development of undue heat and without loss or absorption of moisture. A hammer-mill shall not be used. 5.6 Test sieve, wire cloth, diameter 200 mm, nominal size of aperture 500 4m, with receiver, complying
19、with ISO 3310-I. 5.7 Suitable device for handling dishes, for example laboratory tongs. 6 Sampling See ISO/R 707. 7 Procedure 7.1 Preparation of the test sample 7.1.1 Thoroughly mix the laboratory sample by repeatedly shaking and inverting the container (if necessary, after having transferred all of
20、 the laboratory sample to an air-tight container of sufficient capacity to allow this operation to be carried out). 7.1.2 Transfer about 50 g of the thoroughly mixed laboratory sample to the test sieve (5.6). 7.1.3 If the 50g portion directly passes or almost completely passes the sieve, use for the
