The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through IS0 technical committees. E
、ach member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, govern- mental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. Draft International Standards adopted by
、the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by the IS0 Council. They are approved in accordance with IS0 procedures requiring at least 75 % approval by the member bodies voting. International Standard IS0 73931 1 was pr

、e O Introduction IS0 7393 consists of the following parts: Part 1 : Titrimetric method using N,N-diethyl-1 ,Qphenylenediamine. Part 2: Colorimetric method using N,N-diethyl-I ,Cphenylenediamine, for routine control purposes. Part 3: lodometric titration method for the determination of total chlorine
、. 1 This part of IS0 7393 specifies a titrimetric method for the determination of free chlorine and total chlorine in water. Scope and field of application Sea water and waters containing bromides and iodides com- prise a group for which special procedures are required.I2 The method is applicable to
、 concentrations, in terms of chlorine (CI,), from 0 , O O O 4 to 0,07 mmol/l (0,03 to 5 mg/l) total chlorine and at higher concentrations by dilution of samples. For concentrations above 0,07 mmol/l, IS0 7393/3 can also be used. In annex A a procedure is presented for the differentiation of combined
