Scope
4、wood-wool and cement, hereinafter referred to as the “wood-wool cement boardst1, by compression-molding. This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the boards manufactured from Remark: The units and numerical values given in are in accordance with the International System of Units (SI), and are app

Types The wood-wool cement boards shall be classified
6、into the following two types : (1) Flame retardant wood-wool cement boards (2) Heat-insulation wood-wool cement boards Remark: Heat-insulation wood-wool cement boards are sometimes used for sound-absorption . e Applicable Standards: See page 7. Materials and Manufacture 3.1 Wood
8、 used for manufacture of wood wool shall have been cut into 20 cm or over in length. 60 min. Remark: It is desirable that the wood wool should be shave
9、d, not cut, in the process of manufacture. 55 min. Heat-insulation wood- wool cement board 3.2 The cement to be used for the manufacture of wood-wool cement boards shall be as specified in JIS R 5210. 45 max. White portland cement may be used for this purpose. 3.3 Table 1 formulates the mixing ratio
10、s (mass %) of cement and wood wool used for the manufacture of wood-wool cement boards. Table 1 Unit: % 3.4 Besides cement and wood wool, admixtures or colouring agents may be used in the manufacture of wood-wool cement boards, to such extent as will not cause harmful effects to the quality or usage
11、 of resultant products. 3.5 Molding wood-wool cement boards shall consist of first mixing all the materials thoroughly until the cement becomes satisfactorily starchy, then coating the surfaces of the wood wool evenly with the starchy mixture, and finally packing and molding the wood wool under unif
12、orm pressure. Wood-wool cement boards may be molded in two or three layers to suit specific uses. Remark: When a wood-wool cement board has been molded in three layers, the intermediate layer may be exempted from the application of requirements given in Table 1. 3.6 After molding is finished as pres
13、cribed in 3.5, the wood-wool cement boards shall be allowed to stand under a damp condition for at least 24 h before they are unclamped. Then, the boards shall be cured in a place not exposed to direct sunlight for at least three days before being fully dried. Copyright Japanese Standards Associatio

The thickness of a wood-wool cement board shall be measured at any point 20 mm or more inside from the circumference of the board using a gauge precise to 1/10 mm or finer. The surface of the gauge to be in contact with the wood-wool cement boar
19、d shall be a circle with a diameter of approx. 20 mm. Boards failing to meet thickness tolerances given in Table 2 should advisably be shaved on either or both sides to come within the permissible range. 2. Quality O o o o 5.1 Wood-wool cement boards shall have wood wool arranged
21、and distributed evenly on their surfaces, have the four edges angled rectangularly, and be free from warpage, cracks or pierced holes ( 2 , harmful to the use of the boards. Note (2) Pierced holes mean those local holes on the boards penetrating from one surface to the other which have been caused p
22、artially by an uneven arrangement and distribution of wood wool. 5.2 The quality of wood-wool cement boards shall comply with the re- quirements given in Table 3 when tested in accordance with the procedures given in 6.
