8、 Introduction This Standard was established as joint treatment materials for gypsum boards in 1985 and revised formally according to JIS Z 8301, Rules for the drafting and presen- tation of Japanese Industrial Standards. This Standard is Japanese Industrial Standard established so that the correspon
9、ding international Standard are translated in relation to the corresponding part as referring to ASTM C 474-89, Standard test method for joint treatment materials for gypsum board construction, ASTM C 475-93, Standard specification for joint compound and joint tape for finishing gypsum board and CEN
10、/TC241/WG3/TG/l, Joint compound for gypsum board, and any technical contents are not changed in this revision. 1 This Standard specifies the joint treatment materials for gypsum plasterboards to be used mainly for reinforcement of joint parts and also for smooth finish for gypsum boards to be used f
11、or walls and ceilings inside of building. Scope Remarks: The units and numerical values given in in this Standard are based on the traditional units and are appended for informative reference. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this Standard

13、tions of terms used in this Standard shall be as follows. joint compound Powdery or pasty material of which the main component are gypsum and other material. joint tape Belt-shaped reinforcement material to be used for the reinforcement of joint parts of the gypsum plaster boards to each other. join
14、t compound for undercoating Joint compound to be coated directly on gypsum plasterboard and to be used for the adjustment of unevenness on joint part and for the filling of joint tape. joint compound for overcoating Joint compound to be coated on joint compound for undercoating and used for finishin
15、g on joint parts. joint compound for both uses Joint compound to be able to use for both undercoating and overcoating. powdery joint compound Joint compound to be used as a pasty condition by adding of water. ready-mixed joint compound Joint compound to be prepared beforehand in a manufactory so as
