4、TANDARD J I S Organic Adhesives for Ceramic Tiles A 5548-1987 1. Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies organic adhesives used for setting ceramic tiles( ) on inner wall surfaces of a building, hereinafter referred to as “adhesives“. Note (l) The ceramic tiles referred to in this standard
5、 shall be those specified in JIS A 5209. Remark: The units and numerical values given in in this Standard are in accordance with the International System of Units (SI), and are appended for reference. 2. Definitions For the purposes of this standard, following definitions apply: (1) workable time Du
6、ration in which adhesives which have been mixed for application are kept in usable condition. (2) synthetic rubber latex Synthetic rubber dispersed in water. (3) synthetic resin emulsion Synthetic resin dispersed in water. (4) filler Chemically inactive substances which are added to adhesives to imp
7、rove the properties such as workability, durability, adhesive strength, etc. (5) settable time Maximum duration in which the specified adhesive strength can be satisfied out of the total time from application of adhesives till setting of tiles. (6) reaction hardening type Adhesives which harden by c
8、hemical reaction. (7) aging A procedure to allow to stand in a defined condition to improve the properties of bonded junction. Classification For use at a place subjected to the
11、influence of water and hot water for long period of time, after applying on a humid substrate. 3.1 Classification According to Application Adhesives shall be classified according to the application as shownin Table 1. Type II Table 1 For use at a place subjected intermittently to the influence of wa
12、ter and hot water, after applying on an almost dried substrate. Type I Description Type III For use at a place not subjected to the influence of water and hot water, after applying on an almost dried substrate. 3.2 Classification by Main Constituents Adhesives shall be classified according to their
13、main constituents as shown in Table 2. Table 2 Type I Description Synthetic rubber system latex type Adhesives composed of mainly synthetic rubber latex, for example, SBR latex and the like, and blended with other resins, additives, fillers and so on. Synthetic resin system emulsion type Epoxy metam
14、or - phic rubber system latex type Adhesives composed of mainly synthetic resin system emulsion, for example, acrylic emulsion, and blended with other resins, additives, fillers and so on. Two-solution mixing type adhesives composed mainly of epoxy resin and synthetic rubber latex with each of them,
15、 the main agent and the hardener, being respectively blended with other resins, additives, fillers and so on. Epoxy resin system reaction hardening type Two-solution mixing type adhesives composed mainly of epoxy resin as a main agent and a hardener with each of them being rere- spectively blended w
16、ith other resins, additives, fillers and so on. 17、987 * 4. Quality The quality of adhesives shall be as follows: Adhesives shall have an uniform appearance and be free from foreign matters mixed which are considered injurious. Adhesives shall not be such that attack the tiles, substrates and others contacting thereto. Adhesives shall not contain th
18、e specific chemicals specified in the law on control over surveillance, manufacture, etc. of chemical substances, and organic solvent Class 1 specified in IThe Organic Solvent Toxication Prevention Regulation“ in accordance with the Industrial Safety and Health Law. Adhesives shall not remarkably de
19、teriorate in quality when stored for 6 months under a condition of ordinary temperature and ordinary humidity( 2, after having been manufactured, and, in addition, shall conform to the quality specified in (5) and (6). Note (2) Ordinary temperature and ordinary humidity shall be those in the ranges
20、of 20 t : 15OC and 65 2 30 % RH respectively. Adhesives shall conform to the criteria given in Table 4 , when tested in accordance with the test of 5. on the test items marked with a symbol O in Table 3. Adhesives shall be tested in accordance with 5.3.6, and workable time and settable time shall be
