8、control Introduction This Japanese Industrial Standard has been prepared, with An- nexes (normative), based on IS0 2020-1 Aerospace - Preformed flexible steel wire rope for aircraft controls - Part i : Dimensions and loads and IS0 2020-2 Aero- space - Preformed flexible steel wire rope for aircraft
9、controls - Part 2 : Techni- cal specification, without modifying their technical contents. 1 Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies carbon steel and stain- less steel wire ropes (hereafter referred to as the “rope“) mainly used for aircraft controls operated within the temperature range o

12、S G 3506 High carbon steel wire rods JIS G 4308 Stainless steel wire rods JIS H 0401 Methods of test for hot dip galvanized coatings 3 Definitions For the purpose of this Standard, the following definitions apply. a) direction of lay The direction in which ropes are closed or wires are stranded. The
13、re are Z-lay and S-lay (see Fig. i). b) type of lay Types by combination of directions of lay in closing the rope and in stranding the wire. c) ordinary Z-lay rope is Z-lay and that in stranding is S-lay (see Fig. i). They are regarded as in the same lot even if divided into several number of ropes. 4 Classification a) Classification by construction Ro

20、rope The breaking load of ropes shall be as follows : 10 16 31 61 a) For the rope, when tested by 1 1 . 2 3, the breaking load shall not be less than the value given in Attached Table 1. b) The breaking load of the rope after subjected to the endurance test, when tested by 11.2 b ) , shall not be le
21、ss than the value given in Attached Table 4. 5 . 2 Tensile strength of wire the manufacturers specification. The tensile strength of wires shall be subject to 6 Characteristics of zinc coating a), the minimum deposited zinc mass shall be as given in Table 2. For the plated wires, when tested by 11.1
22、 Table 2 Minimum deposited zinc mass 7 Size and tolerances 7 . 1 Size The size of ropes shall be as follows : a) The rope diameter shall be as given in Attached Table 1. b) The length of a piece of rope shall generally be 200 m. 7.2 Tolerances on rope diameter For the rope diameter, when measured by
23、 1 1 . 2 c), the tolerances shall be as given in Attached Table 2. Further, the in- crease in rope diameter on the rope end after releasing the seizing shall be within the tolerances given in Attached Table 2. 8 Appearance 8 . 1 Appearance of wire The appearance of wires shall, throughout the full l
24、ength, be round in the cross-section and of smooth surface, be free from defects harmful to use. 8 . 2 Appearance of rope The appearance of ropes shall, throughout the full length, be uniform in closing and free from bends, waviness and other defects. 9 Material 9 . 1 Wire The material of wires used
